Fun Fact 1: I learned to play drums by playing to REM's Murmur album over and over to a record player n my Mom & Dad's bedroom. Fun Fact 2: I was in a short-lived all girl band in Athens, GA circa 1983. We went to Peter Buck's house, and he lent us one of his acoustic guitars for a recording. Fun Fact 3: Around 1986, I lived on 17th St in Atl, Ga. I had a crush on the girl who lived across the street, but (sigh) she was dating Michael Stipe from REM at the time. I went over to her house and they were in a fight, and he had sent her roses, and they were in a vase half-dead. Fun Fact 4: I played drums for Cindy Wilson, from another Athens, GA band, The B-52s.

Howdy Diana, Happy Birthday to your little sister, I hope she enjoyed your R.E.M. cover. It was my big brothers birthday yesterday, he turned 63. Thank you for all the fun facts D. I listened to so much R.E.M. and Smithereens back in the 80's. My oldest brother used to get my dad's record player out of Mom & Dad's room, it was one of those suitcase players. We'd listen to all my Dad's Johnny Cash records on it. Not too long after that my brother got an 8 track tape player and we'd listen to the Beatles, Wings and others on it. It's so cool that you were in your 1st band back in 1983 and went over to Peter Buck's house. 1983 was a good year and it was great to be a kid growing up in the 80's. Good music and movies from 1983. Did you ever get with the girl across the street? If she was on the rebound, it was time to make your move D! LOL.. Did you give her a shoulder to cry on? I'm just teasing you Diana. I'm sure you were a very supportive friend. I know you played in the Cindy Wilson Band, you were so cute in your cowgirl hat D. It was a crying shame that Cindy's brother, Ricky had died so young, he was a good guitarist. The B-52's are still rockin' out. I had seen a show that someone had posted on KZbin of them playing live from a month or so ago. Good stuff. Well, D, thank you for another wonderful upload and for all the fun facts. I appreciate you Diana and really enjoy your channel. It's hot up here in Ohio and if you're still down south, it must be sizzling. Stay cool and hydrated D and keep Baby-That-A-girl cool also so you can keep playing and she can keep rockin'. Take care D, Love ya.......Steve.
