Conner Hance video I just watched disagrees...he says the pros are hitting their serve return while running up to the kitchen.

I indeed watched and re-watched your video. You said towards the end that you don't want to be moving while you're hitting (the service return). All I said was that Connor Hance (of Enhance Pickleball...DUPR singles rating 6.97) had a video I watched which stated that the pros are indeed moving (toward the kitchen) while hitting their return. Tournament videos I have been watching on KZbin seem to confirm this. They tend to stand a couple of feet behind the baseline and then run up to the ball being served. I have begun to implement this strategy and it has allowed me to get to the NVZ quicker than ever. The only time is seems to backfire is when there is a really short serve. Unlike the pros, I am not quick enough to hit the return sometimes.
