I’ve turned to magic to try and supplement my skiing addiction.

After lunch it takes around 2 pints of blood to digest it (making all your organs work not actually using up blood). This is why we yawn after lunch to get more oxygen, we get sleepy etc. Hence the Spanish siesta.

As you said, the body will pull blood back to the core, so use force to push blood back out to the extremities. For cold fingers, straighten an arm and rapidly rotate it at the shoulder, this causes blood to be forced back out to the fingers. For toes, you can straighten the leg and swing it back and forth to help force blood back out to the toes. While not as good as the arms, it does help get some blood out to the toes.

Great tips. Reminds me of race day warm-ups in the starting gate. Stood round trying to force blood around the body. It works.

@@rowboat1972 Yeah check out @MyLifeOutdoors he has some great technical films and material tests. I think I'll try it in the skiing environment this winter and let you know how I get on because I'm (as you probably have gathered) a massive wool fan.

@@skng thanks. Yes I follow him and did happen to watch the first part of his video. Those mesh shirts would irritate my nipples to no end. 🤣🤣 I'll stick with my soft merino.
