I think the best thing Black women can do for their hair is see a good dermatologist, preferably a Black female one. My dermatologist educated me about my hair. The first thing she said is braids are not a protective style. The second thing she said is to not comb my hair everyday. The tension of braids, brushing and combing our hair causes alopecia and hair loss.
