Awesome job guy's. The worms hit our green beans and English peas this fall for the first time. Looks like each year is going to be different now. Glad to hear that seeds are going well this year. Good to see new varieties. The hybrid Celebrity was our best tomato this past year. Those pesky four footed creatures got our whole brassica crop a few years ago also. Two good night's eliminated that problem.

You’re a drip system would absolutely work on EarthBoxes. But I nstead of having the emitters applying water to the top of the EarthBox, I would stick the drip hose down the fill tube. I did that with our EarthBoxes this year and it worked great!

My father in law grows the Obsession 2 that we sell at farmer's markets. I showed him your Obsession variety on the website and he explained the differences to me. If you enjoy habaneros flavor you should check out scotch bonnets. They have the same flavor profile just more intense. Great pepper. If I could recommend a pepper for you guys to sell it would be the Fresno chili pepper. Like a jalapeno but thinner walled and sweeter. Ripens to a bright red. Perfect for hot sauces.

I love field peas like "lady Fingers, White Acres, purple hulls...but they do get stungup bad. I'm about an hour north of you guys here in south Georgia and the farmers here use Bidrin. Now, it's strong but as Travis mentioned, you might as well just quit planting them unless you use some stout stuff because they'll not only get stungup but they'll get slap eatup!

In Northern UT (and it was this way in Minnesota) determinate tomates like Romas or viva Italia start to ripen in late August and keep on producing until frost in October. In October when we pull up the garden because frost is coming there are still tons of tomatoes on the plant

Best garden program on KZbin, hands down. A .410 makes a dandy bunny antidote and is a lot quieter than a 12 Ga.. Use #6 steel shot and you'll have a tasty addition to go with the carrots and onions.

Travis if you will start spraying your peas when you see the first bloom and spray every week and after each rain. Also spray a 4 foot border in the grass around your garden. You will have clean peas.

That would be neat if we could do that. However, we prepack those 5 packs in our warehouse for fast processing and shipping. If we had to customize each one, it would slow down our warehouse tremendously and our ability to ship orders fast would likely suffer.

Hey guys, thanks for all the great advice! I had the same thing happen to my brassicas that Greg did. I put a fence around my garden and replanted my seed trays. My transplants aren't ready but the plants the rabbits got to have started to come back. They are putting on leaves and starting to grow. My question is, am I better off just pulling them up and putting in the transplants or will the original plants continue to grow and put on veggies? I love your show.

If it's something like collards or kale that will provide continual production, they might still have a chance. If it's something like broccoli or cabbage, it might be best to just start over.

Some of my corn blows over maybe every other year. It’s a small patch, so I stake up the blown over stalks with bamboo stakes. Tedious but the corn will mature. For critters we have 7 1/2 ft fencing and add electric for raccoons. Nothing else works. The mid Atlantic deer herd lives in my yard.

What can I use on my cabbages to keep them free of insects? We live in Savannah, Georgia. Our garden is located in our backyard which is an East-facing orientation. Most of our plants have a slight lean as if they are reaching for the sunlight. We have huge oak trees across the path behind our backyard, so we cannot control how much sun exposure our garden gets. Rabbits. That's the best reason for putting a "fish in the hole". Not under a plant but around the edge of the garden. It will bring in foxes. They will take care of the rabbits.

I live in North Texas. If you mulch, just be on standby with the Sluggo Plus. I tried mulching and I became over run with snails. My garden looked like I was growing green lace.

We don't mulch because we're constantly turning over crops and planting new ones, which often have a different row spacing than the previous crop. So mulch would be quite the impedance to replanting each time. Also, we like to do quite a bit of cover cropping, which can be tough to do in mulch.

We did that just a couple years ago where our "dream garden" currently sits. Our soils were quite poor initially. But cover cropping and adding lots of compost has made it much better. There's not going to be a quick fix, but it will get better year after year. Make sure you do a soil test so you can get your pH right.

😂 We are father and son. 20 years and 20 days apart. Grasshoppers, like any insect, are going to be tough to eliminate in the adult stage. Start spraying a rotation of spinosad and pyrethrin (both organic) when plants are small. Focus on killing the nymphs to break the reproductive cycles.

You have to start early, almost right after transplanting. Once you get a ton of adults on the plants, there's not much you can do. We use a rotation of spinosad and pyrethrin, both organic, and start spraying early and at least once a week.

Good video. These are caterpillars. Caterpillars suck. Bt is very effective for killing caterpillars. I can’t afford Bt, so I rely on trying to attract paper wasps, assassin bugs, yellow jackets, and other predators to control the caterpillars. Happy gardening

1) You probably don't want to use chlorinated water on your garden. So you might want to filter that if your water is chlorinated. 2) There might be a few varieties that aren't available, but we don't foresee a seed shortage. Most of the issues with companies has been that they can't keep seeds packed, not necessarily the seeds themselves. 3) Just put the seeds in a ziploc bag and store in the fridge.

I have never had Tomatoes cross pollinate it very rare. only way would be a bee going from one flower to the other.

Are you in the Southern Hemisphere? Tomatoes are self-pollinating with perfect flowers, so accidental cross pollination is pretty rare unless you have a ton of very active pollinating insects and many plants in very close proximity flowering at the same time. Most gardeners can grow multiple varieties of tomato and save seed without a problem. If you aren’t saving seed, then it doesn’t matter at all if there is cross pollination. Cross pollinating diff tomato varieties usually has to be intentional and involves emasculating flowers and moving pollen from other flowers with forceps.

If you just want to grow tomatoes to eat, there’s no need to worry about cross pollination. Its only a concern if you want to save pure seed for planting. Either way, tomato cross doesn’t readily occur in most garden settings

Have a question or two, has planted just a few of the Kentucy blue pole bean and the jade bush bean amount a month ago, while they did germinate the are still only 4-5” tall and not very vibrant in color,plus have a lot of brown spots.i have used the 202020 every week or so and have them on a drip ( not tape) and have sprayed neem oil every week or so.its still in the mid 80’s here in sw Fl.what am I missing here? Also tried starting Bella Rosa tomatoes in trays with seed starting mix, only 1-2 in 10 germinated and they were very wiry and then stand straight up.i did not let soil dry out ,although seems to hold moisture for a long time. Have tried it indoors and outside under covered patio..any help would be appreciated...thanks again

The supersweet varieties can tend to be a little shorter than the traditional varieties like Silver Queen. Might want to give one of those a shot.

UPS sends some of their packages thru the USPS! What does that tell you. They over charge their costumers!

UPS has a feature called "surepost" where they use USPS. It is less costly than standard UPS, but is typically very slow. It usually takes a week or two for delivery. As a result, we don't use it.

Have had a few folks mention this variety, but not really sure why. We can get it, but I'm not really impressed with the disease package on Jet Star. Seems to be an old hybrid that doesn't have the vigor of the newer hybrids.

Travis so sorry about your brassicas. Now you're ate up with rabbits, but squirrels are my nemesis. I know they're God's creation but I hate a squirrel. They did what the rabbits did to your broccoli and brussel sprouts. I've received my elephant garlic, sunsugar, big beef tomato, and the gypsy pepper. May go ahead and order the lemon boy and the purple boy.

@@gardeningwithhoss I definitely will. I'm growing Fall Corn for the first time and it has tasselled, set ears with silk. I've fed it with Chilean Nitrate, 20-20-20, and micro boost yet it seems to be slow growing. Could the cold snap have slowed the growth? I'm in Jackson, MS zone 8b and we've even had 39 degree weather around the beginning of November.
