I actually disagree that your failures, flaws, and mistakes don't define you. I argue that they do. That they make you no more than "the bad guy who "did this or that." Take my ex-coworker for example. He's a college man, about 25, who'd been touching coworkers a lot on the arms and shoulders. One of those outgoing, tactile guys. You might say friendly and casual; _I_ say creepy and handsy. The chef and our boss took him to the latter's office to talk to him (and I could hear the exchange through the office's air vent while sorting things). The chef told him he shouldn't touch anyone without consent. Just handshakes. Said we needed the workers to be comfortable in a good work environment, that he pretty much shouldn't talk about anything other than work and school. How he shouldn't tell his stories because they may be inappropriate to some degree to the other workers; funny to him only. A guy with no filter is *_just_* a guy with no filter. He seemed pretty quiet during the speech. I'll bet he was uncomfortable, and that's just fine by me. I don't care he felt bad for making _others_ uncomfortable. I don't even care he never intended to undermine anyone. "I didn't mean to" is a lousy excuse; the fault behind it still counts. The guy's conscience and need to make things right will _never_ redeem him. He will always be the creep at work. The guy who deserved the lecture, no matter how it made him feel. What he did will always be wrong. Hands to yourself, Biden! And _that_ is why I believe your faults _do_ define you. You mess up, you mess up. Best thing to do is get lost so no one you know will have to deal with you again. My ex-coworker quit because he felt so bad about himself--and for his coworkers. Well, good. We're better off without him.
