Quality HVACR

4 жыл бұрын

Today's task is to replace an indoor cooling coil that is leaking refrigerant and give the system an overall cleaning. The HVAC system I'm working on is a split unit Rheem/Ruud gas furnace (located in the attic) with air conditioning serving the upstairs of the home. The customer also complained about a musty smell whenever the system was running. The indoor cooling coil was in bad shape, everyone should breathe a little better with this new coil.

5yrs old and rusted out.. okay that says a few things. 1.) How well ventilated is the attic? 2.) How well sealed and insulated is the duct work? 3.) How was the superheat and subcool? So your doing a tune up. What was the MFD for the cap? How did the contactor pads look? Me I replace contactors for those in some cases (commercial refrigeration) yearly or rebuild them. Capicators I change every couple years depending on usage. Thos two things help prevent service calls..oh even blower caps too. Good stuff be safe out there.

It's too late. My HVAC equipment is much worse than anything in this video. Don't worry, I'm replacing everything in two weeks. The furnace is still working well but the coil is 26 years old (it has never leaked) and the compressor gave up the ghost last November. Since I used to be in the HVAC business, I'll be doing most of the removal and install myself. I already removed the old condensing unit and took it to be recycled. BTW, I do have an EPA certification.
