A couple of things I’ve started doing, primarily on lower costs items are these two related things: 1. I consider the minimum 10% discount - if I list something for $22, the minimum discount is $3 + the over $2 discount on shipping. Leaves almost no profit. So, I’ll list at $24 knowing that I can offer $21 (and be closer to the $22 I really wanted). 2. I sometimes automatically list with $5.95 shipping and start at a higher price. The item looks more attractive with discounted shipping and I’m not taking an additional hit when offering a discount later.

Awesome tips!! I'm not a beginner and still found this so helpful! I'm so happy you addressed the comps situation - I noticed that myself. I almost never check comps - I find it to be a waste of time. However, I have worked in retail/fashion most of my career so it's maybe a bit easier for me to know what will sell (I do well with recognizing brands and fabrics). I can understand why people do it...but for me - it's seemingly just wasted time. Thanks for the great content!

you can change the listing to "not for sale" in the availability drop down (still need to use the size change trick if there are active offers). I don't delete any items in case the item comes back to me (a return for example) and i need to easily relist it.

I personally think that poshmark is more user friendly for a beginner than ebay, however I did start with ebay myself as a teenager! I crosslist using Vendoo and absolutely love it! That make the process so seamless and fast! If you are interested I have a link in my description for it. I do use promotions on ebay at about 3-5% depending on the item. I actually never use free shipping or returns for my ebay store!

Hi Linda! I relist consistently! Not sure if you are familiar with Vendoo (if not I have a link to it in the description box), but that is the service I use to relist on all the platforms I sell on. I definitely notice a difference in my sales when relisting daily as the items I am making "new" are promoted more on each of the platforms! Hope this helps :)
