Good advice, Rino! Definitely have an independent geometra inspection. We used a popular "consultant" to purchase our place and paid him an additional fee to supposedly have it inspected by his geometra. We're now selling the place through an agent and we've found out our balcony was never on the documents. Because it's external and not easily removed, we'll have to pay to have the documents corrected and registered before the sale. Would have cost us much less to have an independent geometra inspection from the beginning!

***I wonder if you could be talking about a group called "A Home in Italy". They have definitely dubious methods. Proved to NOT be trustworthy ‼️Even though they're now offering an all-in-one price to take care of everything, I had a very bad experience with them and when I wrote about it online, I had people actually contacting me telling me they're terrible stories about dealing with this British man who hosts the videos called "A Home in Italy". Beware‼️

Rino, can you tell us how much can cost a survey from a geometra to check a house before to buy specially when buying from abroad? Grazie mille

We recently paid around €450 for a geometra in the Sulmona area. This was for an inspection of the condition of the property as-is, did it match the documents, etc., with an email report in English (including photos). We were quoted as much as €1200 from someone else for the same type report. I imagine if you're going to ask about renovation potential when purchasing that it could be higher, though?

I'm not a big town kind of person . 400 to 5000 people would be fine for me. Just need a store maybe a restaurant and doctor office. 2 bed 1 to 2 bath and maybe a cantina would be nice.

Ok so sat I find a nice house for between 15000 to 30000 give or take . You buy it out right. In a 7% Flat tax area. And you receive around 1300 to 1500 a month for retirement. My question is would that be enough to survive on per month . Plus you epuld have your 401k planned money ad well.

Hi! Definitely safe, it's not Bolzano (:D) but no issues, I have plenty of colleagues there in a similar situation. Only one area of Pescara is not recommended, around the Tiburtina
