Your technique isn’t fully correct, your legs open as you get closer to the rower, you can’t drive legs back properly, you wouldn’t squat like that. Watch any rower and they don’t do that

do you have any tips to reduce lower back pain when on the rowing machine? that’s my biggest hurdle at the moment with it

It could be a lot of different things, it’s worth going to a physio to see what might be causing it. But try releasing your psoas, hip flexors and glutes etc, also make sure you’re engaging your core when you row. Back pain is often caused by weakness in another area.
