Hi March, Simple solution to seeing the dosing pipe being raised inside the retaining pipe...wrap a ring of insulation tape around it where it's at the bottom/correct level...then, if it gets pulled up/out, you can see it's "high" after re-filling and can push it back down... Cheers, Rich.

Question.. do you feel like dkh around 8 is better for torches.. having a time with them only 🤔
@gordonellisjr3315 ай бұрын
7.5 - 8.5 dKH for Alkalinity is perfect range for all coral. I do not think Alkalinity is your problem. Test your Magnesium if the reading is 1200 PPM or lower you should raise it. Euphyllia coral Torches, Hammers, Frogspawn corals do better with elevated Magnesium levels. 1450 PPM is where I try to keep my Magnesium. You can go through Marches video archives. He has a couple of videos, where he talks about elevated Magnesium levels. Unfortunately I lost my Torch coral before I found Marches videos. I have elevated my Magnesium and my Euphyllia coral has been great ever since.

In my experience disclaimer I’m no expert or anything like that just someone that loves torches and been having them for about 5-6 years in both nanos and big tanks it’s not really the number it’s more the stability of that number if it’s anywhere from 8-12 and you stick with that number and it’s stays consistent you should be good usually my problems with torches is low mag or salinity issues hope this can help!
@slaw86095 ай бұрын
Thanks y'all.. yeah mag is 1400 and everything else has been pretty stable for the most part.. I have a mix reef but it's mostly my torches and one frogspawn.. sending in an icp soon

Hey March, whenever you run into an emergency like yours where parameters drop quickly, is it more harmful to slowly raise your alk (which keeps it low for a while) or is it more stressful to make the jump back to regular parameters?
@SilentBiscuit175 ай бұрын
I would let the corals adjust for a day or so and then slowly rise
