I'm so glad Viv didn't pull any punches with this episode. It's supposed to make you uncomfortable. It's supposed to trigger you. It's supposed to be awful. That's the point of the episode. It's an absolutely necessary commentary that needs to be told to bring awareness to the industry. There's a huge difference between warning about possible triggers so those who aren't in a good mental place to handle it can avoid or prepare themselves, and people who seem to think the mere existence or acknowledgement of abusive or triggering behavior or other 'harmful' discussion which translates to conversations that bother THEM so they want them not to exist. They treat discussion of uncomfortable things the same as SUPPORTING the behavior of those abusers which frankly baffles me. I honestly love Angel and Husks dynamic. Even if the end goal isn’t romantic it’s still a wonderful friendship. With that being said, I ship it as well. I think they would be good for each other, and that’s not something I ever thought I’d say when I first watched the pilot. After this episode tho, I can definitely see it, they’re freaking adorable.

I kinda love the difference in body language Val has with Charlie compared to when he's talking to Anthony. With Charlie, he mostly trys to talk to her at eye level. With Anthony though, there's very few shots where he's not imposing himself into a physical position of power over the poor boy, either holding him down or looming over him menacingly.

Because compared to her, HE'S the low life demon that could die tomorrow and she wouldn't even notice the difference in Hell. From her position, Val is the pauper, the serf, the peasant who is miniscule compared to her, both in power and status. So he over compensates by talking at her level, making eye contact, bowing to her, and staying in his place by showing restraint. She could fuck him up with a single snap if she wanted, but chooses not to because she tries to be better than these people, better than the sin that consumes them. So while he knows to stay in his place around her and is VERY aware of the power difference, he's still aware enough to use Angel against her since she cares for Angel. Even though he doesn't compare in power or respect to Lucifer, Charlie, the Sins, or even some of the older overlords, he still tries to act more in control and powerful when in the presence of the souls he's collected or believes he may collect. He physically reminds them of his ownership of them, flaunting the large power difference between himself and them, using brutal force, fear, and manipulation to keep them in their place under him, and does horrific things to the people he owns just to feel more powerful and be perceived as more powerful than he honestly truly is. It's that fear that causes Angel to stop Charlie from stepping in (someone who could have in reality fucked Val and his entire "kingdom" up and burned it to ash). Val knows how insignificant he is when compared to Charlie and her family, but he also knows how to play the game well enough as to not get himself ripped away from power and ruined by the more powerful demons and entities than himself ❤

This episode is beautiful and heartbreaking and I'm really glad people get to know AngelDust more. One of the things I love is the comparison between Angel's dance with Valentino and Husk. While Valentino is controlling all the steps, leading Angel and push him down to make him fall - Husk is making sure they will be coordinated. I think it's really show the difference of how any of them treat and see Angel. Even if I don't think I shipping husk&dust because of the huge age gap (from what I know Angel is around 30 while Husk is around 60) I really love their connection and dynamics. Husk is really gentle with Angel and I'm glad Angel can be himself with someone who wouldn't judge him. Great vid!

Honestly one of the most fucked up things about Poison is that not even at the end of it is Anthony given a moment to rest. We see Vox go into the camera and watch his breakdown. Not even during the one point of the song where he should have some semblance of privacy or peace is he allowed any.😢 Side note, I actually REALLY wanna see Anthony interact with the other Vees. Vel especially, because she's the only one of the 3 who seems to not have any sort of interest in Angel. Honestly, and I think I may have commented this in the episode 3 reaction, but Vel really does feel like a different beast from Vox or Val. So her interacting with more of the cast just sounds like a treat.

Interesting thought. My guess for how Vel would react to Angel would be... to ignore him as beneath her. Vox sees Angel as 'Val's toy', & I think Vel probably looks at him similarly, if at all. She comes across as incredibly self-centered, arrogant & dismissive. That doesn't mean I think she's unintelligent, of course. She is definitely very observant, & played Carmilla Carmine like a fiddle at the overlord meeting. The only way I see it going differently is if she thinks she could manipulate or get something out of Angel that she wants, like intel about the hotel (since they're so concerned about Alastor & Charlie making a deal).

Welcome to the HuskerDust bandwagon 😂 They’re the shows canonical slow burn, Viv’s confirmed it and this episode sealed it for me. It’s not just Angel finding someone he can open up to on a personal level, it’s Husk seeing that he’s not a lost cause that’s completely unlovable. An old rolling stone and a world weary jaded 20-something that have the strongest thread in common; they sold souls they didn’t even think they had anymore and it just lead them deeper into the pit. I love this episode. I love that it’s made people uncomfortable and used a fucking banger of a track to layer over it so you can’t not pay attention or tune it out. It’s a ‘no, you WILL understand what Angel goes through’ moment that got across exactly what it needed to. Angel took charge of himself as a sexy motherfucker because his coping mechanism is projecting overconfidence but I think, naturally, he’s just a competent guy who plays the bimbo because it feels safer. And then you have Husk, who’s truly given up on himself to the point that he’s not even a question. But even as far down as he is, he recognizes someone who ‘deserves’ a hand and doesn’t hesitate to give it to them. I just really love this dumb sweary sex show 😂

Angel made that his whole 'persona', it acts as both a coping & defense mechanism, & protects him from others' expectations. IIRC Angel Dust/Anthony is actually about 30, but that's a minor quibble. You nailed all the rest of this analysis. Hypersexuality is a very common response to SA trauma, because the victim feels that their value is tied to it, and overdoes it as a way of trying to take back control. That's Angel's mask, and Husker, bless his grumpy self, sees right through it. And by the end of the song, you can see the shift; Angel is still owning his sexuality, but now it's not a mask anymore. It's just another part of who he really is. "Sex ain't the only think I'm good at." And yes, I absolutely ship HuskerDust. Can't wait to see how this evolves.

Angel dust is my past life, before I quitted being a stripper, I went through the exact same shit. The exact and I am not overexaggerating. I feel this soooo much... I wasn't a dancer but I've had them as extremely close friends and roommates, and I've dealt with the abuse and pressure for, let's just say, explicit content creation... having the abuse mixed with that kind of vulnerability is such a mind-fuck... :( It's such an awful combination and I'm glad you escaped it. I still am amazed I got out of mine with a LOT of luck and some great friends... Ironically one of which was a bartender. :P So... Yeah... the people who wrote Angel either knew people who lived this or lived something like this themselves because they are SPOT ON with them... :( Definitely the hardest character to watch /because/ it rings so true.

Angel cared about Charlie before himself because angel kowns what Val would do to her because he has been there for so long angel cares about Charlie about her being safe before him self. Angel really cares about his friends and is amazing character and cares so much about her. Angel is a very loving spider and is a softy and when you black down his wall he really shows himself and opens up.😊 Blake the voice actor said “ I am happy and lucky to get a character that contains 1 million different multitudes and the script reflexas that I can’t tell you how excited I was to and how many character like that He keeps Surprising me every time we step into the studio every new script we got I would be sitting in bed reading it laughing and crying and he Really touches my heart on the deepest level I love him I love him” 😊❤ love angel.

I personally don't see them as a "ship", more like an old cranky guy trying to get a young one out of the gutter. Let's not forget that Husk is around his 60s/70s, compared to Angel who died in his late 20s/Early 30s. Of course maybe one time they may..well, get to it, but i don't think it would be romantic or anything, purely mentor/pupil.

I think the age differences are interesting, & of course they bring different things to the characters, but I also think at some point, _everyone_ in hell feels like they're old, as they continue to exist & have experiences after death. Angel has been in hell since the...1930's or 40's? Husk was much older when he died, but that wasn't until the 1970's. So Angel had 30-40+ years in Hell before Husk even got there. Plus the appearances & behavior often don't line up with their living/dying ages at all. I saw someone mention that Nifty was even older than Angel when she died (1950's), where I would've guessed she was late teens/early 20's based on her appearance & behavior. But yeah, Huskerdust is a confirmed pairing later in the series according to Viv, but I think it's going to be a while before that even starts to happen.

I disagree, Husker is slightly older than angel but not by much canonically, he jsut has a deep voice. and he’s less a mentor then he is a fellow enslaved soul in the gutter looking to crawl out and the reason he would be more open to romanic sides with Angel is cause Angel is no longer hiding behind a mask, cause Husker doesn't want somehting that is fake or to just be an escape fro Angel.

For me Husk is Angels Angel. Since i saw all episodes i can't stop shipping them because Husk seems to be the only one who has interest in Anthony and not Angel Dust the pornstar. So many people arguing, they shouldn't turn into lovers because Angel needs a friend like Husk and not another lover. But Husk would definitely not be just another lover. They would be partners and some people seem to forget that the partner can be the best friend too. Angel has already good friends and i would wish for him to experience with Husk that he is worth to be loved. When Angel told, "do you know how much i'm worth", it's about his body and money people are ready to pay for it to use, which is really sad. So Husk is for me the one who shows Angel you're so much more than just a body. I think Husk could save Angel in any way someone can save someone. But it could also mean a complete mental break down for both of them. Imagine you fell in love become a couple with your soulmate but there's... Val. This dude will definitely make trouble when he sees his favorite toy has an emotional connection to another one. I don't know it'll make a difference the other one is Alastors favorite toy, pet, whatever, but probably not

I'd love either... I agree that at this point in their life Angel has had nothing but so many toxic examples of relationships that a friend probably is the best option till they have a chance to get themselves to a stable place. That said, a good stable relationship with someone who calls them out on their shit but only because they want to prove to them that they accept them as they are, and with the patience to stay, and keep staying, without taking the shit that Angel will put them though because of their fear and insecurity personally... A stable strong partner CAN make all the difference... but they're more rare than a classy porn director that respects boundaries LOL
