I don't mind it that much, it's just where my train of thought goes that makes me worry about if that makes sense.. like for instance.. imagine you're a youtuber yourself, and you're in a situation where you're friends with the person in question.. like actual friends not occasionally talk to each other kinda friend... and then you ask if you could this server and you're denied because you're not donating to his patron. For some others it would be fine qnd not a big deal.. but for me I would feel uncomfortable in that spot, like.. just the thought of a friend making you do that despite spending time with each other feels so so wrong to me and i wouldn't like that... There's also the aspect of what happens when you stop being a patron because, say, something tragic happens irl and you aren't able to donate anymore.. would you just be kicked off the server regardless of the invitation? It would tell me directly that my presence was meaningless the entire time and I was noting more than a source of income despite all the special interactions I would have on said server. I am definitely overthinking this as I don't use discord much anyways.. it's just the what ifs that scare me because often this patron discord thing is done with alot of creators i like and if my worries are confirmed true it would make it harder to like said creators and.. I wouldnt want ro stop watching them but I know each feeling would linger.. again, I know I'm overthinking all this I just wanted to put this in a place where I could see how people think about it... the worst feeling for me is when I feel invalidated for everything I've done for someone and this particular stuff brings those sort of thoughts back.. sorry if I misspelled anything hope it makes sense

just letting you guys know patreon is not the only way to get inside the server. he ocassionally posts invites on twitter as well, and unsuscribing from patron will also not automatically kick you from the server. the patreon, when it comes to the discord server, only acts as an instant ticket, as well as in-server perks (such as sneak peeks and a small chat), but that's it. its not even an obligation to enter i know it's not a common practice among youtubers but he has his reasons behind doing that, please dont freak out about it
