I liked the new format. It came across as really professional and high quality. However, the production quality of the older videos had a more personal feel and felt less like a commercial.

I really like the new format, especially how it makes comparison between reviewers opinions easier with how it is segmented. The music was too commercial feeling and I could do without it, less of it, or at least a lower volume.

Don't know why brands are scared to offer anything below 97. Are people really thinking they would hit only the frame with a sub 95 racket? I play best with a 93sq Prestige Mid, definitely not more difficult to play with than the larger 98-100s.
@kabob214 ай бұрын
@@Stu49583 It’s not a matter of hitting the frame. With a smaller head, there’s a small sweet spot and thus less forgiveness on off center shots

I really enjoyed the new format. It was easy to follow and more digestible than the former. Made sense from a content standpoint. Also enjoyed the moments of levity and leaving in some off the cuff dialogue and laughs. This helped keep it natural and personable which i think resonated with me as one of the many who have been watching you all the over the years. The old format is endearing, but you all are on the right track to make it better than before. I also replaced the 30 years old Fairway leather grip with a fresh new Hydrosorb Pro. Excellent choice ! If swingweight, plowthrough an stability are important to you then either get your Pro Staff Classic 6.1 down from the attic, get a Head Prestige Tour, OR check out THIS new Pro Staff 6.1 95! That is if you live in the USA. TW hasn't (yet?) made it available in Europe so far.

We wish it were as easy as TW making it available but unfortunately, often with racquet, footwear and even apparel brands, the availability of products can differ between regions and there are different offerings that aren't always available world wide. Our Europe team has asked Wilson if they can bring it in but unfortunately at this time, they haven't been able to get stock. Fingers crossed that changes in the future! But we love that you got the Pro Staff Classic out for a hit! So fun! Michelle, TW

Now I hear a number of play testers specifically mentioning this is the 18x20 version. Does that imply there's also going to be a 16x18 (or 19) version like with the original Pro Staff Classic 6.1? I still have one of both. Just weighed the 16x18 and it's 333 grams unstrung. So very close to the V14. As soon as Wilson releases a glossy all black version (like the Pro Labs one) I'm seriously gonna consider this racquet! Thanks guys.
@zeroelus6 ай бұрын
Liked the format. As a relative newcomer to these reviews, it gave me what I wanted and moved at a nice pace. Regarding the racquet itself, I still have (and play with about half the time) with an nCode six one 95 16x18. so I'm happy Wilson keeps cranking these older school models out, PWS and all. That ncode and this v14 one have a very similar stiffness rating (I wonder if they are related), and it's one of the reasons I still use it, that plus some multifilament strings make it very comfy. And my impression is the same regarding the weight, it doesn't seem heavy, esp, comparing it to something like a pure drive 100 which is what I play with the other half of the time, and that strung and with the same grips and overgrips the 6.1 outweighs the PD by some 20 ish grams. If Wilson came out with a 16x18, I'd happily retire my one of the nice ncodes I'm saving for when my "beater" frame finally gives up.

To Michelle, as you mentioned your RF97 is discontinued and you'll eventualy have to look for a replacement, how do you compare this Pro Staff 6.1 95 to the Head Prestige Tour? I remember you were super positive about the 2021 edition, with the hefty swing weight and head light balance and all. Which of these two do you like best?
@tenniswarehouse6 ай бұрын
Correct. The biggest difference for me is the handle/pallet shape...having used a Wilson for so long, this one feels right in my hands. I still struggle a tiny bit with the more oval Head pallet. Also, yes, loved that Prestige Tour...didn't like the update as much. and haven't hit it in a while but the Head frames that have been in heavier rotation for me is the Radical Pro and Gravity Pro (mod'd up spec though!). I just don't think I need to go DOWN in head size...but this racquet definitely didn't play like a 95 square inch frame in my opinion. Michelle, TW
@WaltKurtz686 ай бұрын
@@tenniswarehouse Thanks very much. That is very interesting. I've watched a number of reviews all saying the 2023 update is so close to the 2021 it's hardly worth "upgrading to" the new Prestige Tour, but if I am reading this correctly you don't agree. Maybe I should stock up on the 2021 while they're still out there 🤔. I don't know if the Prestige Tour has the more rectangular TK82 pallets but if it does maybe you could swap 'em out to TK82S pallets. Or try the Prestige Pro. That one already has the TK82S pallets (at least mine does). Happy hunting! PS yes, Radical Pro with some lead at 3&9 and under the grip plays very well! Cheers!

I'm guessing you're on the Continent,@@WaltKurtz68, bc the 2021 Tours are all but gone in the states. If so, get 'em while you can. Word is, the initial batch averaged 338sw, and the rebatch ~331; which sold well enough that Head kept its 315g, 31.5cm, 330sw specs for the 2023. So, depending on the batch your 2021s are from, you could maybe get an identical 2023 but for the flex drop from 65 to 62 RA. And, yes, still TK82S. "The horror! The horror!" Sorry, that was more about your handle than the Tour's; I couldn't resist...🧐
@WaltKurtz686 ай бұрын
@@brandomaxwell Interesting. I got my first one early march 2023 and my second one late november, but I only just got racquet 2 back from the stringer! I'll try it asap next week but now you've got me wondering how far these may be apart swing weight wise...
@WaltKurtz686 ай бұрын
@@brandomaxwell I prefer TK82 too, but I don't mind TK82S that much. If you hate TK82S you could buy a grip size smaller than normal and make the pallets thicker only on the sides so that you create a more rectangular grip shape. I put thin strips of hard plastic on the bevels of the pallets, firmly tape 'em on there and then reapply the racquet's basegrip. I do all bevels but of course you could do only the left and right ones. Could be worth a try. Or try it first on an older racquet to see if you like the resulting grip shape (and size).

love the improved presentation. I like how the use of measurements are now presented at the same time. Comparisons with other models was a great touch too. While I love getting each one's perspective, it does get difficult synthesize somewhat. I think a quick summary at the end that collates all common opinions would be great. Obviously, not everyone will have the same opinion so I think each presenter's key traits can be mentioned as well to give context. Perhaps things like current racket of choice, play style, swing style - these can help me relate to the presenters better and would give me an idea of how much weight I should give to each presenter's opinion. I believe the target specs are supposed to be the same, however these were the average measures specs we took in house, once we had a few samples strung for testing. I think the biggest thing we noticed was the flex rating being a bit lower with this v14. However, the swingweight and weight can fluctuate quite a bit in a given batch of racquets, no matter which version it is, and that is why we offer racquet matching services if requested, when purchasing racquets from us. I prefer the previous format, except for the racquet specs information. This kind of racquet specs information is well-framed into 2 frames of video, where i can get any information about the racquet. This longer format is much better. Having recently played the Wilson BLX Six.One 95 18x20, I'd make sure to whom this racket is oriented and just add that on one hand it's not a viable option for intermediate to make a full switch to it, since it's quite heavy and demands long takeback and big swings, but on the other hand, it's one of those rackets you can have fun with hitting for 30 minutes, especially slicing and hitting flat and through.

I don't think it plays all that much different, however I do like the feel and "whipability" of this v14 haha. On the ones that we spec'd it seems as thought the stiffness is bit lower with the v14, which I enjoy. Also, the swingweight seems to be a bit lower on average, helping with maneuverability, and for those that want more swingweight a quick fix with a little weight tape. The v13 did feel a bit firmer and a bit heftier on the swingweight, however I didn't spec as many of the v13 racquets as I did with the v14; as I was digging through our stock for matching pairs.
