Your flashlight is giving away your location. Turn it off, and you will see a markedly better stealth. That with a silencer and sneaking, you should be able to stealth most multiple enemy locations. Just remember, if you drop a body in front of an NPC, they do see it.

Broham I have done it with the flashlight without the flash light everything you can imaging I have tested the crap out of it. Its always the same results. Stealth is trash and not working as intended. Their AI system is jank and bugged and they know it and have admitted it.

You can use the underbarrel shotgun or grenade launcher without using the radial menu by holding down the button that changes firing modes for a second or two. By default on PC, I think this is the B key.

You can get one SVU in cooling tower zone. When leaving Cementary Checkpoint, head North West, toward an abandoned house. There will be 2 Dutier on the ground and one will give you a "defend position quest", go to the roof and there will be a dead Duty soldier with a SVU. You can choose to help them or just bail out because Monolith will come with exo-suit

I've used stealth to clear so many encounters in this game, the keys are one have a suppressor on your weapon, make sure no one's looking at the guy you just killed while you're killing him, and stay out of the line of sight. You can basically clear the game with skif's pistol if you use stealth

its been hit or miss for me, alot of the time im in pitch black darkness but i still get spotted sometimes through whole buildings not just walls, which makes me think thats why they took out night vision goggles so you wouldnt realize how broken the stealth is. the game pushes you to run and gun and its pretty annoying. scopes barely zoom in too the 8x scopes are pretty much 4.5x instead of 8x theres barely a difference between the acog and falcon scope or the pso scopes.

@@ThirdEye-47 not true, the holo and scope magnifications are nearly spot-on to real world counterparts, use the mil-dots/hashes on the scopes to measure distance and the difference in a human-sized target at a set distance. They are actually quite accurate.

Main problem with stealth is most enemies are always grouped up, so it's impossible to not alert them when you dome one of their friends right next to them. It does kind of work when they're spread out, as long as your flashlight is off, but enemies a 100yds away are still alerted.

There's no need to use the radial menu to switch the weapon to another mode... just hold (I repeat hold, not just tap) the key to change the firing mode. It's simple.

My understanding of that indicator is that is just means someone heard, saw, smelled(lol), sensed, you somewhere around. Like they are now looking for you for noise or flashlight. The enemies turn to red triangles on the compass when they actually see you.

Yup been playing for over 170 hours now... and stealth needs to be tweaked, because sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. I've had the same problems as you, the enemies can see through walls, rocks, thick foliage, etc. It's useless to try sneaking up on targets to assassinate with the knife, or get closer to try using a silenced pistol as I get spotted too quickly, even when crouched in darkness behind cover, with light armor and unencumbered, and flashlight off. The stealth mechanic kicks in inconsistently it seems.

I killed many squads/camps with stealth without them noticing anything, but if you have your flashlight on, they'll spot you very easily. PS : A real Stalker always has a proper shotgun on him to deal with mutants. It's like Stalker 101.

Stealth does work to a degree. If someone see the body drop you get that alert (does not necessarily mean you are actually spotted) if they become alerted, reposition wait for them to come investigate and take more out. Ive had them shooting walls and throwing nades at old positions and I just come around to side negate their cover and boom dead. Secondary benefit of silencers mutants/mobs are attracted to explosions/unsilenced weapons. Most people are aware but the blue bar is how much noise you are making while moving. So even if they cant SEE you if you are kicking cans etcs it will put them on alert.

I've just stopped trying. When I was on one side of a wall and they were on another throwing grenades at my exact position I was like yea they clearly see through walls. Game has a lot of jank. They know it does, even admitted that its not working as intended currently. Maybe in the future stealth will be a bit more of a viable option but tbh right now I would not even bother unless you are using the knife. You can take people down all day with that thing and no one will ever care lol.

It’s a nice setup. But definitely nothing “ultimate” about it. I think a good AR (fully upgraded and modded Dnipro or Kharod) + good Shotgun (Saiga-D12) + Pistol/Revolver, is objectively better that the setup shown in the video (mainly because you’re sacrificing your second weapon slot by equipping the revolver there instead of having it replace your pistol). Sure one could argue that with the revolver you don’t need a shotgun as much. But only having two main weapon slots is a real limiting factors. And since there are many really solid weapons competing for those two slots, choosing to put the revolver there instead of putting it in the pistol slot just makes zero sense tbh. I mean even a Buket or Vector would be a better choice in slot 2 instead of running both Skif and Revolver. While not amazing weapons, they would at least be useful in the not-so-rare double/triple bloodsucker encounters. Wholly agree on AI/stealth. Anyone who says it works fine is tripping at this point, since the devs themselves did acknowledge they had to fix it in future updates.

AR's have low damage and waste too much ammo and the rhino destroys any shotgun in range accuracy and damage. But to each their own. As long as you are having fun thats all that matters. Like I said in the video. This play style won't fit everyone. But I think it's a great start for people new to the game.

@@Firespark81 AR’s do have low(er) damage. But they’re versatile weapons, much more so than Sniper Rifles. Unlike the SVU-MK S-3, they can be used at close range against mutants and offer less recoil, more bullets, fully auto faster firing rate and are faster to reload. The lower damage is hardly a problem thanks to the high penetration since you’ll mainly be using them against humans, mid-long range (with a scope preferably). The high penetration makes it so you will one shot most human enemies if you aim for the head. Nine times out of ten it will only take a bullet per enemy with a fully upgraded Dnipro/Kharod. Also, they both use the same ammo as AK’s, which is very common and dirt cheap to buy. As to the Rhino, I’m not saying it’s a bad weapon. I’m just saying it doesn’t even come close to good shotguns: Shotguns aren’t used for ranged combat, especially not when you already have an AR/Sniper in your other weapon slot. Shotguns are mainly used for mutants. Because mutants are the only enemies in the game that don’t really let you choose between fighting long range or up close. Some of them turn invisible and jump you point blank. Others cover 20-30 yards with a single leap… which means more often than not, you will “have to” fight them at close range. Some of these mutants are very tanky, while others are less tanky but come in groups of 2 or more (like bloodsuckers). The problem with the Rhino is that, while it deals very good damage, it only offers 6 bullets and is slow to reload. 6 bullets is just lame when fighting 2-3 bloodsuckers (which happens very often in my experience). Considering you will miss a shot or two every now and then, that leaves you with 4-5 bullets before having to reload. This is where Shotguns outshine the Rhino (not even close). They offer double the bullets and are faster to reload. The Saiga-D12 can even offer very good range (if you really have something against head-shooting humans with AR’s) if you mod it to use slugs. Again, the Rhino is a great gun. It’s just not good enough to take a slot other than the “pistol” one in the current setup of the game. PS: I agree with you. To each their own. I’m not saying you have to go with AR+Shotty. I’m just saying it is objectively more viable than Sniper+Revolver. And I am only arguing about what’s “objectively” more sound to use because the video says it’s the “ultimate” setup. Cheers

@@MihaiCornean that’s a pretty good setup too! My main gripe with the ClusterF is recoil and the tons of smoke it releases with each shot (which can hinder visibility when used as an AR) . That’s why I like to use it more from long range (Sniper) rather than mid-long (AR). Have fun!

1. It's a suppressor not a silencer 2. Suppressors don't eliminate sound, the suppress or dampen it. Also bullets crack when firing which makes a sound alerting enemies. 3. If they are throwing grenades at you, you were too close to an enemy position and they heard the shot suppressed or not. Yes these are things they've included in the game

Sick of all these weeks old videos showing the glitch to jump to get over the train tracks. They patched that. It’s blocked. This game actually got a company now as massive as some others if closing cheats extremely fast. Many other massive gaming companies I swear are way slower to fix cheats . Nah, the best sniper I found is Clusterf... It semi-auto, it has almost no kickback so you can rapidly put multiple rounds on a target with it. You can easily delete the entire squads of heavily armored enemies with it. It also comes with optional 50! rounds magazine, that will make you forget about reloading. Against mutants you need properly upgraded Saiga. It will delete even Chimeras and Pseudogiants almost instanteneously. The best SMG I found so far is Spitter. It can be good against both mutants, and with anti-piercing ammo against heavy human opponents at close range.

I can understand the frustration with the AI and its ability to instantly track you down, but in my opinion the weapons work very closely to their real life counterparts….Shotguns don’t work at a distance in real life…Weapons shake and move when used or reloaded and need to be recentered after every shot….Silencers aren’t silent, they are still kind of loud up close, just not at a distance.

Snipers have such limited usage, slow fire, flinches like someone with Parkinson's, high dmg at the cost of missing means you do less dmg than your secondary (ttk). And the spawn range is 100m maximum, meaning all weapons have those enemies within their range group, except snipers which is supposed to go further. Pick an AR with acog or red dot, Pick a shotgun, pick a good pistol, APSB is my go to. Its Rapid fire, good penetration, decent dmg good accuracy half decent range, cheap ammo, can have a sight on it and cheap repair. Can't go wrong. Skifs pistol is also free to repair, or close to free. Mine cost $17

The enemies have ears too my guy, they don't see you through the walls they hear you. Use your walk/crouch/both more. You can take out enemies with a suppressed gun and not alert others. I'm doing a HUDless playthrough and I can stealth most encounters even without the threat indicator.

If you use a mod where they can't go invisible it's a lot easier with the Rhino, but a shotgun is a lot easier, at least if your an older gamer or got potato aim, as I feel the Rhino can be hard to hit with. Especially if you put on the 2x scope. I think there is something wrong with that scope on the Rhino. Rhino is a very high skill weapon, especially hitting the bloodsuckers, you must be high skill. Also not sure how good the Rhino is against fast moving mutants with a controller. Recommend a fast shotgun or Vector or a Dnipro.

3:16 you said it yourself, “They start to throw nades in my general detection.” It’s not that the AI knows exactly where you are but in layman terms, they are assuming your whereabouts is in that spot. I have used bolts to distract bandits and while they came close and even back into me, they were still momentarily focused on where the bolt had landed to a stop. Albeit, it was against a wall so they saw it and didn’t waste time before immediately turning around and preventing my stealth kill. Sure the stealth isn’t perfect like a Splinter Cell game but it is there in some weak capacity.

In Stalker 2 enemy shotguns can not only hit you from a mile away but also do more than just tickle you! Developers needed to put the pipe down when configuring some of the physics in this game. They tried to make things realistic but ended up creating a very unrealistic game.

Prob just need to reset the vendor items till they sell it. You can do that by sleeping twice. And a bonus tip, if you save before talking to them after they have restocked, you can check and then reload the save if its not what you wanted and they will have different items.

Not true. I have tested it moments ago with the silenced pistol. I can share a video if you like. Just shoot the furthest back line of sight enemy and work your way forward those in front won't see the bodies drop as long as you drop them with 2 shots or less. I learned this method from hunting and a historical figure Sergent York whom made a whole platoon surrender in ww1. He shoot the ones at the back first to front in a group that was rushing his position. They kept pushing not seeing those dropping behind them. He killed so many the rest in the area surrendered.

Oh and you also MUST one shot them with the pistol if you do not they are all alerted. Im telling you bro I tested the crap out stealth for days. Its jank AF and they even admitted it is. If I am a mile away with a sniper I should be able to pick dudes off and it should take them forever to figure out where I am. This just isn't the case in this game and because of that its just not worth it. You can just use the setup I suggest in the video and destroy everything. Stealth is pointless.

Had that happen to me aswell, walking made me bleed and took health. I think I fixed it by reloading. I'd also try a Doctor, sleeping removing any bleed reducing artifacts to see if it removes it

I think it happens if you have a autosave/quick save inside of a glass anomaly, you have to run through the specific one that caused the bug to get rid of the effect.

Bad faith arguement on stealth lol. I ran the SVD for a long while, but i find much more versatility in Dnipro with Saiga and Rhino. Dnipro for humans at range, Saiga for cqb and mutants and Rhino for popping exo dudes at close range/tight quarters.

vendors change their stock after 1 or 2 sleeps, the best ones are in rostok, yaniv, malachite, and pripyat., keep sleeping until you see what you like. its how i got the tactical helmet and a bunch of attachments very early in the game. the hunter in red forest also has the best quality gear but since theres no bed there you have to run back and forth from yaniv or rostok.

Lol guys in the comments literally pretending stealth works, thats pretty insane compium, once you actually fix it you realize what a stupid proposition the entire game is right now, more a demo than anything. Its really unplayable without all the npcs already there insteadof spawning behind you and wildly shooting at you every 10 min lol

I think stealth works in certain missions, like you the first time you go into the Sphere, you can stealth kill most of the guards with a knife until you reach Solder. There is also a mission where the Sparks guys attack STC Malachite, and I had an AS Lavina at that point. At the end I came behind a bunch of them, and kill them all with the Lavina without nobody being alert. This might be scripted to let you be able to stealth the end of the mission. Stealth also work in certain situation if you kill them with a suppressed pistol up closed, without ever being spotted. It also depends if there is any enemies in range. If they are already alerted, stealth doesn't work at all.

You can sprint from Lesser Zone to Yantar and find Rhino and use Mark 1 EMR form Chemical Plant or SVDM-2 until you can get SVU.

Guys you need to stop playing it vanilla, vanilla s2 is unplayable. The Alife is turned off in vanilla making it a gross broken mess that just spawns bullet wasting pointless mobs randomly that you can never sneak up on or properly *STALK* you know like the name! First your going to download shay's living zone Alife mod(looter 1 version) this is going to reactivate the Alife system and it's special and exclusive encounter events(kinda like fallout encounters) in a 1k+ bubble around you. Watch out if you do this for the first time in the wilderness a war will break out, just wait for it to play out and it should be normal after that. Ok then you are going to download maklanes better shootouts no aimbotting And now that your world is filled with NPCs that are roaming around taking bases and raiding factions you need to make them not-stupid-as they are in vanilla, so your going to download "NPC combat overhaul" so they will now flank, you. Route you out of positions. They will charge in with shotguns or if they have snipers they will shoot then move to a now position and shoot again like a sniper would. This also fixes agro and allows you to finally stealth yay! However to dial it in we need his other mod: long distance agro fix. Together these mods finally alow proper stealth and the ability to disengage a far away enemy and reproach. Now holdon there cowboy,dont crack that botte of stoli's open just yet! the repair costs for real armor are quite literally unsustainable, you cant at all make enough coupons to justify any fight. Thats gotta go, like right now so well grab "reduced repair costs" and snag the "by 60%" version. But wait, you still cant parkour through the game...and you havent ask your self...why tho? Thereis no good answer to why you cant parkour through any game. Besides we want the authentic slavic experience, and while addidas arnt modded in yet we can at least move like a slav whos wife just made fresh pirogis! so lets fix that too with "better vaulting less 1.5 sprint" this will about double your sprinttime and fix the games vaulting mechanics which currently are broken(but not now because mods yay!) Ok now grab stalker2pakcfg merge tool and follow the instructions ok merging these guys and by george your stalkin' like a proper balkin' on his way to the liquor store! Yay eastern bloc yay!

Omg I forgot to mention that the guy who runs the subreddit for software optimizations made a set of optimizations to the game that basically fixes the game for anyone with studders, problems aiming, poppin, all of it. I got like 30fps, shadows finally working, flickering gone, and so much more it's card "optimizations essentials-stutter performance latency fix (V2.0 release) This mod is literally mandatory, if you do literally anything at all this needs to be it!

Let's face it, Stalker 2 is a massive disappointment for people who've played the previous stalker games . The world is beautiful to look at but is empty. This game should have never been released in it's current state. It's not only unfinished, IT'S BROKEN!!!!! I believe the investors (microsoft) said, "Put that broken game out now, flunkies! Who gives a $hit that it sucks. We want our profits. The fanboys will all say GOAT and GOTY. They think bugs and glitches are funny! Let the modder slaves fix the game for free. In a year, it will be like GAMMA and ANOMALY. You know how that goes. It will crash every 10 minutes and the 500 or so hardcore gamers will spend every waking moment singing it's praises."

@@moparman1692 I'm comparing Stalker 2 to SOC, Clear Sky, Return to Pripyat, even Lost Alpha and Gamma and Anomaly. I played ALL of these games and they were superior to Stalker 2. I hope microsoft stays with the game and funds the Ukrainian developers to fix the problems like CDPR did with Cyberpunk. But it might be a long time You may have just got lucky. Good for you, but I'm not playing again until a-life gets fixed

@c.s127 yeah I disagree ! Elden ring n sekiro n souls games I beat all of them n enjoyed them ! But this is just to tedious & you sometimes search for days in n order to find something & they put you in terrible situations that r uncalled for ! The weight thing really is the worst cuz u can't sprint for long , you constantly outta ammo ! I'll never touch another game from these devs 💯%
