lived here for 36 years and I hate the traffic now... we own our house near the beach and the prices are insane

That seems like a pretty fair assessment. On balance, it’s still a great place to live - at least for us.

I like sarasota but scared of insurance, hurricane and lot fees/ HOA. I'll take the heat any day. I was born and raised in southern NJ and hate it.

😂😂😂😂 Are you living in Sarasota? It's wonderful! I grew up here as a native. Yes it's busy because it is a great place to live. 😂 Worth every penny to live here. Traffic...So what! It still takes a very short time to get where you want to go. It's not an issue. It's pricey and I'm not sad about it. Happy my property value has increased. If you want to live near the water yes you pay for it. Hurricanes are part of fla living. I have lived through so many and I am always prepared. Be prepared, generator, gas, water, no problem. Every city has a downside. Bugs, alligators 😅really? Non issue. You pay for living in such a beautiful place with so much to do year round. Love my city!

Love your honesty in this and other videos. Love Sarasota but only to visit!

One other thing I would mention is traffic noise, there are many busy streets going though Sarasota and lots of cars with trick mufflers, helicopters and commercial planes that love to fly low over the houses, with flat terrain there are no noise blockers. I love the heat and hate the cold, it was the main reason I moved to Sarasota and I am not disappointed. There are many other nice places in the world to visit during , June - Sept.

Beautiful city but traffic is a nightmare especially going to the beach it's like Christmas time on 5th Avenue going to look at the tree at Rockefeller Center maybe traffic in Sarasota is worse

Sorry but I love living in Sarasota as a active adult ! I get what your saying for sure but it’s just so fun to be doing something outdoors everyday ! Lots of fine dining downtown and tons of events. Now with all that said I do admit I have the best of both worlds I do get to escape north in the summer !

Fine dining lol you must be joking. That food is nasty and all the same at every restaurant. Oh and price is steep.

1. It's way too hot!!! 2. It's NOT a great place for single people...mostly retired married couples. 3. Way way way too crowded... 4. Flat flat flat...it's a flat peace of sand...all of Florida is flat...no hills, mountains, waterfalls, no cliffs, canyons, sooo...to get away, you have to drive 5 to 6 hours...get very very monotonous. So, it's mostly a hot, crowded sand bar at sea level crammed with nursing homes and millions and millions of retired married couples...lol...gets 8:02 monotonous

Not the best place for people under 40 years old. St. Pete is better for the younger people.
