it's really cool how wilson and maxwell are basically repeating all the steps wilson has been doing in the intro of don't starve, when making maxwell's door. just like in the intro, he even stopped to think for a second before pulling the switch, but instead of yelling and forcing him to do it, maxwell is like "trust me, no tricks this time". all that section is really deja vu inducing

Ya think this implies Maxwell was trying to escape and that’s what caused Wilson to go through the portal. As in Maxwell thinks he can open a portal back to the real world by eather making his own or getting Wilson to do it but he’s unaware it’ll just trap Wilson instead and the portal can’t make people leave the constant only trap them. I mean judging by Wolfgang, Wendy and Wes’s reaction they look confused as if they just got there, Maby that’s why Maxwell got made at you the closer you got to the shadow throne he knows the deeper you go the worse it gets as I’d rather be in the constant then the shadow throne. the more portals he made getting closer to the throne the more people from the outside got trapped whilst I’m assuming the shadow creatures made him look like the villain. At least that’s my theory.

Its interesting that the three to cross over in the comic had in some ways interacted with Maxwell other than being tricked to enter the constant. Wolfgang being shadow infused once to save Maxwell after the train crash and Wendy being his niece, then Wes who ,,displeased” Maxwell when he accidentally saved someone who’s about to be taken to the constant Also if Maxwell has passive sanity regen why did he need a garland?
