Fun fact: killing hallucinations gives you a significant amount of sanity, and is the only good way to get rid of them, as getting in a boat is only temporary, and they don't disappear when you get your sanity back. Definitely try again with another character! Maybe woody? As I remember from the base game, he's hard to control, but good if you can do it.

CarterArts Admittedly, yes, but they're still pretty easy to kill, just get near them, run as they start their attack animation, then whack them, they'll teleport, then just repeat until they're dead.

Being around the shadow monsters makes your sanity drop really intensely- once you go insane you get into a vicious cycle where being insane makes you go more insane. Your base island was also not making things easier for because you didn't have that many resources there- crabs are this expansion's rabbits, so islands with lots of them will provide you with a steady stream of meat foods. Flowers grow back faster in areas with lots of bees- the honey they produce is also really good for healing items and sanity boosting.

If you wear a flower garland and carry a pretty parasol, plus eat crock pot foods (which raise your sanity) your sanity should be good to go

+crash979797 lol someone has been reading forums and taking the word there as gospel. warly and walani are not "bad" characters, they are early game characters, people don't think they are bad they think they are bad for late game. also being wet heavily reduces sanity, temperature, spoil time and gives you a chance to drop tools while using them.

Sips I would love to see more. You should try out Walani because she starts with a surfboard, sanity effects that drain over time drain slower, she dries quicker and the only downside is a faster hunger drain which is made up for with a higher hunger total, happy shipwrecking XD

Watching the finale of a dont starve playthrough knowing it will end in the absurd, pathetic demise of the player is pretty evocative. Its like old man and the sea but rouge-like.Bravo sips! You died determined until the end, and quickly rebounded quickly after your death. The only winning this game is being willing to play again :)

You lose sanity from the wetness and darkness. An umbrella or a tropical parasol are absolutely needed during the rainy season + a straw hat or a football helmet. As for restoring sanity, the pirate hat and sand castle are great and don't require that many resources. Same with the straw roll. The tent is a bit more expensive but it restores sanity and health. You should also build your base on an island that has a sandy area because there's where most of the twigs and grass grow, plus you can catch crabs with rabbit traps and harvest limpet rocks for food. Hope you continue the series, Sips! One of the new characters you unlocked has a portable crock pot and he's really fun to play.

+Latha Math He was good at the vanilla game only. Remember his Reign of Giants playthrough? He didn't do anywhere near as well then(His tombstone for that one should've been ; "RIP Sips. He never saw a Giant"). Shipwrecked has similar mechanics that Sips simply never mastered. Wetness hurt him as much back in RoG as it did in Shipwrecked. So yeah, Sips is bad at RoG and Shipwrecked, but we obviously don't watch him for how good he is at the game.

Sips, the first character you unlocked is walani who has a surfboard from the start, she also is capable of getting sanity back from riding waves which is really handy and she dries out 33% faster than other characters but gets hungrier faster as well, and the second character you unlocked is a chef who has a portable crock pot which lets him cook food anywhere without a firepit. however he loses hunger faster than the other characters but is able to gain more sanity, hunger and health from cooked meals. he also has a survival pouch which keeps food fresher for longer

Good job for not going down without a fight! The best I've been able to do on Shipwrecked is Day 43. Wickerbottom is really helpful since there are a lot of things you can make before needing the science machine. I use 3 mods to help me out: "DS Too many items" (just in case you get in a serious pinch and need some help between filming), "Display Food Values" (SUPER helpful!), and "Season Text". Congrats on unlocking your new characters! The girl has her own surfboard and the guy comes with a crockpot and prefers food cooked with a crockpot (he will eat other foods, but they aren't as good as crockpot foods). Good luck!

The other is Woodie, who has a permanent axe, the ability to regain sanity via planting pinecones, and the ability to become a werebeaver.

A group of 3 terrorbeaks makes a pretty vicious continuum on constant insanity. Due to the fact that hitting one means you take 1-3 hits, its really hard to recover from it.
