Powdercakes are meant to be bait for creatures like turkeys, you set it up a berry bush farm in just the right way with a powdercake in the middle and the turkeys will just chase after it without being able to reach it, allowing you to kill them for their tasty tasty bird meat

Ash, you can cook up a Glow berry Moose by putting two glow berries and two fruits of any king in your crockpot. It makes you glow like a Mining hat and lantern combined and it lasts for a day.

Jas, try letting the bees attack you while wearing your thorn armor. You WON'T harm you, and it is also a very effective way o farm bee stingers. You can also do it on spiders with same results.

The powder cake ash made is useful as bait for animals because it has such a long time before it spoils. It takes I think 1400 days but I am somewhat guessing. Either way it does not provide any benefits when eaten so it is not a reliable meal. Edit: it lasts for 1850 days. Someone correct me if I am wrong because I have a small feeling that I am.

@Stumpt For the character who's playing Warly, this is for you Ash. There's one last station you need to craft to combine the food and seasons is the Portable Grinding Mill and it's the last station you need to grind raw food materials into seasons and finally to combine the seasonings and finished foods in the Portable Seasoning Station. The only raw material foods that can be grinded in the Grinding Mill are listed; garlic for garlic powder, honey for honey crystals, and chili pepper for chili flakes. Each of the seasons have special effects but if you don't want me to be a spoiler, pun intended, to give away then I won't but if you do want me to spoil or rather help out then I'll re-edit my comment to add them for effects.

Hope someone could make a Mod for Don't Starve where you should craft a Compost Bin and maybe a Rot Bin. Compost Bin is easy to know it makes anything you put in it to turn into fertilizer (i.e Bucket 'o' Poop.) and Rot Bin will turn certain items rotted but for this case having to make the eggs into rotten eggs for gunpowder.

New updates get integrated with existing worlds with the exception of code breaking ones like sea/lunar island (I think) but like others mentioned you get the new ingredients by planting seeds. Warly starts with two potatoes and a garlic so you should feed them to the bird and hope you get extra seeds.

Powdercakes are very useful. Place the powdercake in a little fence and it will last forever. They attract turkeys so they will not eat your berries, and they can be easily killed.

I know you didn't have official Warly when you started, but when play him, you need to farm and stockpile food before winter hits. In a multiplayer game with people dying frequently, *coughcough*, you'd want to mass produce onions and horde them for bone soup, and alternate eating soup and meaty stews with some other meals in between to keep Warly's palate satisfied. Kinda useless info RN, but maybe it'll help in spring

Carrots are the only natural spawned crop. You won't find any of the new crops just growing naturally on the ground. P.S. Jasmine can make Bramble Husk as Wormwood to negate the damage from bramble traps, besides that, you'll be able to gather cactuses and spiky saplings without taking damage when you have the bramble husk equipped.

Wormwood can make armour that makes it so bramble traps don't hurt you and warly needs a spice grinder to spice food (which he can craft)

A good recipe for Warly would be Bone Bouillon (2 Bones, 1 Onion, Filler) it gives 150 Hunger, as much as a Meaty Stew

Jas' traps won't spring on you, but if you're within their range when they spring on a mob then you'll be injured. That being said, if you wear Jas' special armor then her traps don't hurt you at all!

The Bramble Trap doesn't hurt you when you walk over it, the only way it can hurt you is if you get caught in its AOE when stepped on by a mob.

onions, garlic, etc do NOT spawn at all, not even in worlds generated in the basegame after the update. edit: you just get them from seeds randomly, like dragonfruit, eggplant, etc.
