Down south in Florida the winters a warmer sorta BUT the area, like beside your house, if grassy kill with vinegar. We have roaches and ants (sugar ants love plastic on electrical wires). Spread coffee grounds under and then some comet. Clean the inside with Odo-Ban original it has eucalyptus. Also spraying mattress and sheets, your sweat is a attractant. Nothing worse to find where ants have made holes in a favorite t-shirt left in between trips.

The only thing that works to keep mice out is physically blocking any route in. Soap, dryer sheets, electronic deterrents etc. don’t work (I know because they got in a vehicle I was storing and used the dryer sheets and soap bars I’d left as nest material). Remove any food traces and plug up any holes, even the holes drilled in the base for plumbing, gas lines, electrical etc. Use steel wool on the furnace exhaust/air intake, shore power cable hole and your grey water drain if you don’t have a cap
@ItsPoppin2 жыл бұрын
I 💯 % agree. The only caution I add to this is that if the steel wool gets wet, it’ll probably rust leaving a bit of a mess to clean up.

I covered my popup. Hubby and I removed it because some high winds tore it today. We found that the ABS roof cracked horribly. My Mom researched and said it’s not recommended to cover our type of popup because the cover can collect extra eat and cause the roof to crack. I wish I had known that before I covered it.

I’m also storing mine in the garage, do you block yours up off the wheels or let it sit with full psi in the tires?

Hey I just want to say Im really glad I ran across your channel and trying to watch as much as I can. I have a few questions. I have a 1994 10ft StarCraft and would love to fix it up. The tent part is in good shape and no leaks any where. So where is a good place to get a awning in a bag with some tension poles, the little tabs on the curtains that hold them up ( what are the called and where to get them ) ( can a regular sewing machine sew through them), I saw you put vinyl waterproof click and lock flooring in a pop up, how did it hold up going from hot weather to cold? Did it stay together?, I saw you had a rack on the roof of a pop up. Can a rack or roof hold a kayak or two ( 50lb each). Sorry for this being long and asking a lot. Thanks for any information

Here is our Pop Up Camper Water System Winterization video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZ_HameOrMt8ga8 What do you guys do when you store your pop up campers?

We bought a 10x20 carport which fits our camper perfectly. We'll see how well it works. Last year I rigged up a big tarp so it wasn't laying on the camper, but the weight of snow always pressed it down. Had to clean it off regularly. Inside, we use dryer sheets, which my wife saw as a recommendation online. Her uncle, who we bought the camper from, tried using Irish Spring Soap as someone had recommended to him. Apparently, mice love to eat Irish Spring Soap as it contains real fat. He had to get several repairs done before we could buy it from him. Lesson learned 😁

Before i covered my camper a couple months ago I went under the camper and re sealed around the PVC shower drain holes in the floor as well. And spend the extra money for a breathable cover. Its a lot cheaper then replacing the canvass The camper we bought last year had the canvass replaces six years ago because a mouse go inside and ruined the inside.. They had too replace it it was that bad,

Awesome! Thank you! Just stored my pop-up I did pretty much as you said, a friend told me the same.. the only thing that I just realized that I forgot was to put something inside the fridge. Do you think I would cause any problem? I put an anti-moisture inside the pop-up.
@ItsPoppin2 жыл бұрын
Leave it cracked for airflow or you could use some sort of baking soda odor reducer if you like.
@gijimbo1337 Жыл бұрын
I recently heard a good tip you should just leave the fridge door open. It helps prevent mold & mildew from any condensation.

Do you have any videos on how to fix corner seems? My drivers side rear seal its pealing up. Definitely needs to be resealed this spring. Its separating right at the bottom of the camper.

We bought ours 2 years ago and the trailer stays outside in the winter. We never did the antifreeze in the lines as we never use any water in the sink. It's just there. Maybe the people we bought it off had some in them, we hope lol. Should we still put antifreeze in it?
@uploadtime17802 жыл бұрын
Yes if it had water it would be suggested but also your climate may dictate that moreso

When I 1st opened up my camper this year, I had so many freaking ants under both beds between the mattress and the plywood ... Man It looked like a Horror movie.. The crazy thing is that it was easy to get rid of them.. All I did was remove the Queen's in and around the center then moved them to a different location .. I had an old wooden box under the carport and I put them in there.. The next day all of the ants were in and around the box pretty much.. Crazy mess for sure.. Then I just sprayed them.. And then only had a couple 100 remaining in the camper.. It was the East Coast Virginia Piss Ant.. Lol well that's what I call them..

Hi, I just bought a camper - wonder what your thoughts are on protecting sealing the particle floor bottom from underneath the camper? Our bed base is plywood, but the floor is particle board. From underneath, I can see that Rockwood has sprayed the particle board it with something black, but I can clearly see the particle wood bits. I'd like to discourage the mice from entering and also protect it from the elements when driving. Thanks! Great Channel!
@ItsPoppin3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm not sure exactly what Rockwood utilized to coat the floor partical board so that may be a good question to reach out to Rockwood with. With that being said, if it was coated from the factory, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to do a second layer. Most recommend not coating the floor or bed if it's not done by the factory, but it sounds like that's not the case with your Rockwood.

Should I remove the canvas? I will ne storing mine outside with a tarp and stuff
@ItsPoppin3 жыл бұрын
You can. We don't recommend utilizing a regular tarp because they don't allow the pop up to breath, which will cause moisture build up inside the pop up. Pick up a purpose built, breathable cover instead.
@SacredBurn0ut3 жыл бұрын
@@ItsPoppin Thank you for the speedy reply. So if I were to remove the canvas what's the best way to store it? My main concern is making sure water and bugs don't get into it
