I do photography as a hobby and another factor I noticed in the photos that didn't work is the time of day they took them. A lot of them were taken during the brightest part of the day. Taking the photos during the "golden hour" would help soften the shadows and lines on the face, etc.

Dear Aly, great idea for another helpful series... Thank you for coming up with this interesting approach!! I'm already excited about 'City Styles' and whether I'd fit in as a 'Flamboyant Gamine' better than in nature photos - with a dress full of little flowers ;-) (I'm thinking about the cowboy hat, though... maybe that would be more appropriate.) In any case: the idea of 'Kibbe types in environments' really appeals me! I'm looking forward to the next episodes!! :-))

Hi Aly, I want to take a moment to appreciate your analysis & the knowledge you share regarding fashion, beauty, & visual in general. Such a needed content during this internet era of constant ads & unhelpful beauty tips (those who says "just wear anything, you're gorgeous"). The things you're sharing are actually empowering ones' natural beauty ❤

Watching these videos the more I realize I love the "bad" photos that are being analyzed. I love all those photos and the time period they were taken in. The "harsh" makeup in nature... the woman in the leaves who fell from the bar.. very early 2000's. Love them! ❤ 3:31 2:49 5:02 - No! this is too modern! This is the trend of what everyone posts! how is this good? 🙄 9:09 - Gorgeous!

I like the background and photo featured in the thumbnail because at least that woman is going to be giggly and fun and a happy European lady and not uniform like everyone else nowadays on Instagram. I like her fantasy of her chosen background.I like that "inappropriate" "bubbly" and random background. It shows character. I want to do this on purpose just to bother the ppl that want everything uniform 😂 and zombielike boring like everyone else!

Wow, what great timing! I just was asked to model for a photo shoot and I had no idea what to wear or how to do my makeup! Do you think I can rely entirely on the photographer color correction or should I do at least something? It’s a natural setting and I’ll be playing violin in the photos
@EmL-kg5gn7 ай бұрын
Definitely ask the photographer beforehand if you can but I’d bring something just in case!!! If you have an extra dress and your makeup bag it won’t do any harm. If it were me I’d do natural makeup before and depending on what’s meant by a natural setting that would affect the dress. My inclination is either something ethereal or something cottagecore? But if you were being photographed on stone pillars a dramatic look wouldn’t be at all out of place, it depends on the location! And on what’s true to you. You wouldn’t have been asked if you weren’t already doing something right!
@a24-457 ай бұрын
Agreed, ask the photographer. If the answer isn't that clear, ask what you should definitely NOT wear, say with colour, pattern, shiny fabric, matte or luminous makeup, jewellery, shoes, hair up or down.The suggestion to bring 2 of things even shoes, is a great idea. But hopefully these days all concerns can be fixed in editing.

This can be applied to daylight events/activities in general. In Eastern Europe where Im from, women go out for regular activities with full on make up/glam outfits which is ridiculous in my opinion.

Hi Aly, I'm 5ft6 and think I am an soft classic. I'm moderate and have curve. But I am slightly pear shaped with Hips. Could I still be considered soft classic??
@ZurditaDinamita7 ай бұрын
Hi! Not Aly obviously lol But any type can be any form (pear, hourglass, etc. Just some coincidences are more common than others). I work with EU metric system so maybe I'm wrong, but 5ft6 sounds more tall than moderate for me? Have you considered having a strong vertical? Maybe you're a Soft Dramatic.
@FJ-no3ir7 ай бұрын
@@ZurditaDinamita thank you for helping lol oh I didn't know 5ft6 was considered tall. I don't really think I have a strong Vertical line but then again I'm only new to this Kibbe thing lol
@TheThriftingTherapist7 ай бұрын
5 6 doesn't denote long vertical line unless you appear taller than you are. It's not super tall, more average. You could definitely be soft classic.
@FJ-no3ir7 ай бұрын
@@TheThriftingTherapist Thank you!! I totally agree 5ft6 is definitely more of a average height. I feel like in the UK where I live, people tend to think I'm tall because majority of the women here are short. I did the Kibbe Quiz and ended up with soft classic.

If I don’t look good in super natural components, I just can’t take photos in nature? 🥲 I’m a kibbe romantic and a bright winter which basically means I require extreme polish and extreme contrast- a non-natural look 😢
