Oh my God, I can't express how much I love this song. The meaning behind it is everything. FROM MY POINT OF VIEW, I feel like she's in love with a person who only sees her for how she looks, he constantly calls her pretty and beautiful and although it is flattering but girls ask for more than just compliments on their faces/ bodies. She wants him to love her for the things she has and doesn't have, for her good side but also her bad side just as much. I feel like this song represents relationships nowadays, they're built to show off to people, to look "perfect" or "relationship goals" on social media. He apparently doesn't love her but also can't be honest with her so she keeps on running in circles trying to understand him. And although deep down she knows he doesn't love her, but him calling her pretty and beautiful is pulling her in to stay which is weighing her down and draining her energy so all she does is cry in the shower instead of facing reality. WOW

You said it all..excellent explanation !@@
@madame__bizarre3 жыл бұрын
@tima cdouh My first thoughts after listening were that she's in love with a person who doesn't love her and they can't find a common ground because they're either so different from each other or he cheated on her ("I know if you loved me, it would never go that far"). Or both those things. Hence why he keeps telling her sweet nothings and compliments - he pulls the the wool over her eyes to make her stay with him. But still, your explaination is way better, I like it!

You never disappoint when it comes to showing off your voice to it's full potential! The entire vocal is flawless and those low notes are perfection! Here are some of my favourite vocal moments from the song that are extremely challenging to do: 0:52 - Low F3 to a sudden Eb in a gorgeous head voice 1:04 - The intervals on "go that far" are very unexpected and difficult to achieve such precision with! 1:06 - The amazing signature vocal trill on the "lad da de da da", stunning! 1:35 - "I get mad and you say" covers an octave and a half with perfect precision! And the belt on "don't go" is flawless! 1:47 - An octave interval jump down to an F3 - extremely impressive! 1:56 - Love the backing vocals here! And the Eb3 on the lyric "bathroom" has fantastic tone! 2:04 - My favourite moment! A precise vocal run of 18 notes followed by a stunning belt 2:11 - Incredible vocal control and an 8 second sustain! Keep it coming, Faouzia! Everything you touch turns to gold! :)

1:04 "go that FAR"! Ups and downs like waves of the ocean! Flawless! I heard her a few days ago & I'm stunned of her vocals. God poured a giant cup of voice in her!
@musicalme7893 жыл бұрын
@@megitanz89 That's the one I meant to do when I mentioned the unexpected interval; not the word "beautiful", but the word "far" instead as it lands on a Db note which was very unexpected in the melodic line. The precision of pitch she has is just amazing. And you're right it creates a sort of wave in the vocal. The musicality in all her songs is what I live for when listening to her music! :)

I just had a sudden realization......... if she does a stripped version of this it will be absolutely INSANE. The thing with Faouzia is that her voice is so powerful, sometimes the production on her songs covers it up. I personally prefer the stripped versions of most of her songs. I still can't get over how actually impressive you are as a vocalist. Like i try to sing this and i can see when you go from diaphragm to head voice. You have so much power and control going from the low octave to the very mezzo soprano notes. I will ALWAYS be a fan. Keep up the phenomenal work.

When I first heard her, the usage of her lower notes reminds me of Eurythmics. With this song having that ‘tribal/traditional’-feel, low humming heavenly strings, and secondary vocals reminds me of Florence+Machine. Faouzia is a Queen. Seriously.

I feel like this song is an experience, but also an understanding that references to beauty can be used to gloss over other problems. The lyrics alludes to those without much specifics. I think this is about a relationship in which comments about beauty or talent get used to sweep other things under the rug.

She’s rocketing straight towards absolute stardom, something her long time loyal fans knew would happen sooner or later. I was thrilled when she appeared with J. Legend on one of the morning shows, not because I ever watch those shows, but simply because it instantly opened Fouzia up to a huge audience that she don't already have. More exposure = More Fouzia and that’s not a matter of opinion because she is truly a unique wonder, on both a vocal and songwriting level. She’s also a darn good musician. Fouzia is the kind of talent that comes along so rarely, like that once in a lifetime celestial event, and we should be grateful to have been around to hear her watch her as she takes her place among the greats. I’m just thrilled that she’s gotten to a point where I might be able to see her live (as being from the East Coast has made it impractical on the few occasions she’s performed live since she’s located on the West Coast), at least in once the world starts moving again.♥️
