Please do not take this lightly, you literally have saved me and my children so much! I admittingly am NOT a cook. I have three kiddos and the recipes and things you've shared on your channel helped us stay with full bellies on my limited income! I don't have to pick which bills to pay so we could be full each week! I love you for all you do! Thank you!

Good idea. I worked in a kitchen making 420 meals 3x per day. We would take out from fridge what we needed then mark on bag box date opened and how much is left & expiration date. So next person making meals wouldn't open a new bag. Then leave on fridge. It was so helpful. Instead of finding food spoiled.

The homemade beradcrumb is a million dollar idea! The seasoned breadcrumbs can be very overpriced in the stores. I also keep the ends of the bread. I just let them dry out on the top of my counter and I keep them in a textil bag (the same bag my great grandma stored her dried bread) hung up in my pantry. Thank you for the "What is in my fridge" tip! YOU ARE GENIOUS! ❤

I don't make bread very often but earlier tonight I made potato bread. As I am gluten and dairy free, I find the best way to cook gluten free bread is in the slow cooker, on high for 2.5 hours.

I buy dried beans in bulk and if you go to food pantry many times you will get dried beans, and then i can them up myself and have ready cooked beans for recipes for quick meals, i also cook up a large crock pot of beans at the beginning of the week to use all week for recipes. I jave learned so much from you Gabby on how to make tasty, satisfieing meals on a real tight budget. I also grow a garden and grow/ can alot of my produce to have shelf stable. I loke the freezer idea but i live off grid and dont realy have a large freezer to store things so i try to make everything as shelf stable as possible, oh and i dehydrate alot of my produce also

How I save $? Yes, I buy the big bags of flour, rice, sugar, potatoes, 73% ground beef, chicken whatever is cheapest per ounce. We'll eat the same meal 2 days in a row so there are very few leftovers to use later in the week. Every morsel of leftovers is used and not wasted. They usually end up in a Mexican or Asian dish. Flour tortillas and Asian wraps are basically the same recipe and a dozen homemade cost what 1 single one from a package at the store does so that's a no brainer. We can still get $1 loaves of store bread so I usually buy that but if it is any other type it will be homemade - pie crusts, rolls, pastries, empanadas, pizza, baked goods, etc. Pinwheels are a great way to stretch teeny bits of leftovers. The month of Sept. we spent

Great revipes and tips. Im learning so much. When you place the frozen bread in the oven at night, do you cover it with a plastic wrap or towel? Do I keep the light on? Wonderful recipes, going to try the granola bars too. Thank you.
@mexicancookingwithgaby65892 ай бұрын
I do not. And nope I don't turn on the light either. Because it has enough time to rise. If you turn the light on it will raise faster and you may not be awake when it's time to bake it.

@@mexicancookingwithgaby6589 thank you so much I appreciate your answer. I live in Toronto Canada, and it's getting cold here, I'll have to try and see if it rises in the oven. I love your channel and recipes. Keep up the great videos.

❓Questions❓ For the granola bars you listed baking powder but then said baking soda. Which one did you use?? Also you listed 1 cup of flour but then didn't use flour. Does the original recipe use flour? Thanks in advance😊😊

So is the bread still frozen when you blend it up ?
@mexicancookingwithgaby6589Ай бұрын
when I blend it? I don't know what you mean, but the only time the bread its frozen is when I am putting it in the pan to bake.

@@mexicancookingwithgaby6589 no I mean for the bread crumbs is the loaf thawed before you pulse it up in the blender
