Thank you Alex, for sharing your coffee ground information with your viewers. I also use coffee grounds to feed my red composting worms. I have had a four layer composting bin for 37 years and would never give it up. The worm castings are so beneficial to my vegetable garden. I have egg cartons from the grocery store which I soak in water so the worms eat the cartons as well as all my vegetable and fruit scraps. I probably have 700,000 worms in my bin. I wish I could send a photo to you. I'm 78 in September and have had these worms nearly half of my life. You have your Angelica, 2 dogs and I have pet worms, ha ha. Good luck on your homestead. You are bringing back to the farm much love and prosperity will be yours in the future.🐑🐾🐔

Love your curiosity. Worm farming is an old art. As a child on our farm in Virginia, USA, I drugged for worms under the rocks on the farm to fish with. A river ran in the middle of our farm. (dugged.)

Hi Alex, enjoyed your video, I use my coffee grounds in my veg patch, it keeps snails/slugs away from my lettuces. I also plant Marigolds with my carotts, this keeps the Carrott fly away,they don't like their smell. This video was very informative, you have a great wormer set up. Thankyou for sharing,have a good weekend. Stay safe.

Egg shells are also great compost to use especially for tomato plants.
@AlexLukachina2 жыл бұрын
Indeed, I use them in my Worm Bin. They also stabilaize the PH.

If your tomatoes have a scabby bottom like something has bitten 1/3 off , this is calcium deficiency so crushed shell or dried and blended remedies this ants also hate grounds on & in their holes👍❤️❤️❤️🙏

Growing up, my mother always saved the spent coffee grounds for the flower gardens. She did this for the remainder of her life. It always helped the flowers to grow strong and lush. I think the acid in the grounds helped the soil.

From what I remember, my grandfolks ALWAYS put their coffee grounds in the compost AND especially the Rose beds.......... I don't raise roses, so just the the grounds over the grass............ old coffee grounds are a GREAT moister retainer.......

Thank you so much, Alex, for a very informative video. I do put coffee grounds into my compost and also heard that they are good for fig trees. I have a fig tree which has suffered from lack of nutrients so I'm putting some coffee grounds around the base every couple of weeks.

Thank you for explaining what to do and not to do with coffee grounds. I have been saving mine for months and was going to mix it in the soil but now I know better. I had no idea they were a pest repellant and I plan to use it for that. Great information.

I heard coffee was nasty in Europe. You all make what we call cowboy coffee. I prefer no grounds in my coffee
@anitaklamer33602 жыл бұрын
Well, you heard wrong. In most Europe countries coffee is brewed filtered and drunk without the ground and is deliciouse. For instance Italy manufactures some of the best coffee machines. It is, each his/her own preference, to drink it with the ground but not common. 😁
@helenagracio75562 жыл бұрын
Sandy Angel - In Portugal we have the best coffee blands. We don't drink buckets of a dark water with coffee aroma. We drink very strong and tasty expressos.
