Was thinking the same. You can clearly see that at that moment the dog absolutely needed its space and did like being played with that way. And then parents are in shock when the dog snaps (doesnt even need to bite)

@@bigredc222 I have a cat... mine will do any of the following, Run away, hide, attack. It is the same with dogs. Animals are unpredictable (we really should stop anthropomorphising them). Something else to take into consideration, dogs are also pack animals, the family is the pack and the dog has decided its place in the pack. If it thinks it has a higher rank than the child then there is more chance it will snap at her. Is it worth risking that little girl being bitten or worse?

If you take your pet into water, any water please make sure they are wearing VESTS...

flashflame ... All dogs are natural swimmers. Their coats - being full of oils - (that's why we don't bath them too often) will keep them afloat and dogs with long, fluffy hair love to swim. "VESTS" will only hinder them. If a dog has to have theraputic swims with vet then maybe a vest is necessary. Some breeds with larger heads don't like to swim as they are more likely to go under.
