What a save !!! Had me smiling all the way ! Had this lesson recently ! After spending SO much time on my initial layout etc sketching a barn as the main topic, with trees in the background, I totally messed it up with a swipe of my hand. Sending stripes over my white/sunlight roof going in the worst direction ever! Long story but yes! Managed to find a way to camouflage it and ended up happy enough with it to gift it ! 😊

Came out charming, and excellent advice to keep going and see what happens. Works with oil painting as well.

You taught me so well, that I can critic your drawing. The plant was mostly negative spaces . I wouldn't be able to fix it like you did.

you can change photo to black and white and add contrast to help you see the borders between tones better

To catch how the plants hang is, I guess, what is called "the rhythm" of the composition. To replicate this one would only need the outline of the leaves, which suggest one should be conservative with hatching.
