Yellowstone was an amazing park to visit but it definitely has some down falls! Let us know in the comments if you've been there and how your experience was! Thanks for watching and don't forget to like & subscribe to follow along!

I live close to Yellowstone, I can't even remember how many times I have been there. These days, I go in early June and September, that is when the crowds aren't an issue. In fact I was just there and it was nice!!! The peak season is just awful these days, come back in September to hear the elk bugle, and avoid the crowds.

Yeah I've heard those are the less busy months! I'm sure we'll be back one day. And I think we'll plan it a bit different with that in mind.

I totally agree with your assessment of Yellowstone. We stayed in a small rustic log cabin right at Old Faithful one night and at a campground another night. We drove around for two days and visited much the same attractions as you did. My favourite spot was the Canyon because we hiked down into the canyon where it was quiet with no crowds as many of the tourists just want to view it from the top and continue on to the next site! We saw more wildlife when we went south into Grand Teton and I much preferred that park as It was equally beautiful but far less populated with tourists. Yellowstone reminds me of Banff here in Alberta (I am a Canadian and currently live in Calgary). It, too, is incredibly beautiful but overrun with tourists especially during the summer months. I would like to revisit Yellowstone in the off-season and see if it would be a different experience.

Yes it was weird feeling.. Because of course WE were also apart of the contributing tourists.. We did our best to avoid the crowds by arriving extremely early. We actually also had an EXCELLENT experience in Grand Teton. Love it! But funny enough, we were just in Banff also. Many tourists as well but I think the lack of traffic made up for it ❤️ ⛰️

@@stephandmicah I am actually from Niagara Falls, Ontario and therefore, grew up in a busy tourist town. I lived there for 40 years before moving to Calgary. I think the secret is to find out where all the locals go :). While working in the tourist industry, I would always give people tips and suggestions on the best places to visit and the ones to avoid.

Go to Juneau, Alaska at the end of Summer, you'll see HEAPS of bears near the glacier ;)

I would LOVE to go to Alaska!! If it wasn't a 30hour drive from BC I'd be headed that way haha

♥@@stephandmicah Oh but think of all the hours of footage and stories you'd get from driving? Also, Juneau is land-locked, so at some point, if you took the ambulance, you'd have to take a ferry, there's no way to drive into town :)

Did you find out if there is a "most opportune" time of the year at Yellowstone, when vehicle traffic is at a minimum? I've never been there, but I think I would be hesitant to go in the summer.

I believe the "off-season" months are September, October, and April. I'm sure theres minimal crowds in the dead of winter but for good reason! haha it's just harder to get around.
