I think one of the studies books he recommended is Scradieck Complete Scale Studies, How you are supposed to guess this I don't know.

Thank you for your clear explanations. You give "just enough" information per video. :)

Everyday i play scales and etudes and the next day my fingers don't remember right places of fingerboard . Someone have any tips? :( I'm learning violin about 3 years.

Great question! Playing the violin is a kinesthetic learning activity. This helps your brain process and learn new information with physical activity. Slow practice will help your brain remember the movement and by applying really thoughtful listening to your practice this will help your fingers get at the right place at the right time. Let me know how this helps with your practice!

Good tips! Ah yes, the Strauss is in Eb, but it moves through so many keys that it's easy to fall into the cracks intonation wise. Never got booted from a lesson, but I threw a tantrum before one and almost forfeited a black labrador puppy she'd promised me! I wasn't in college. 🤣😂🤦🏾♂️

I need to learn more about this black Labrador puppy 😂

@Eric Mrugala Violin 😅 Midnight grew up to be a great dog! Dad wasn't too happy that Mom and I'd brought home ANOTHER dog, but Duke the Collie, King, a German Shepard/Poodle mix (yeah), and Midnight were thick as thieves. One day a giant French Poodle showed up on our doorstep, and we named him Pierre, and he lived with us for a while until we gave him to a friend of my dad's elderly mother. 🐕 🐩🐶🤣😂

…I was kinda hoping your answer would be something other than Schradieck or Sevcik. I know they’re good but sometimes they drive me crazy (most likely because my intonation issues haha). Oh well time to go over them again and assign them to students as well to share the pain- I mean joy 😊

Haha, I promise there will be a future video where Sevcik and Schradieck are not involved 😅
