Sometimes, it may even cause us to question God's heart for us. Im starting to wait “better”…as in less comparison, less “sad single” days, less feeling sorry, etc…I’m realizing at 30 now that there’s really nothing I can do to change my singleness right now until God brings the right one…so I told myself I have to trust Him but still live…definitely not perfect but getting better. Is it OK to feel sad about the circumstances? We went to mother's day lunch and the server came to our table to give my mom and sister a rose. Obviously I was bypassed because I'm not a mother and have no prospects. Suddenly I felt a wave of sadness come over me and ended up crying in the bathroom. Not because I don't trust God's promises but in that moment I felt overwhelmed by promises not yet fulfilled.

Emily, it's absolutely okay to feel sad! That is completely understandable to feel overwhelmed by promises not yet fulfilled. When we look at Psalms, we can see even David went through a whole gambit of emotions, and our emotions our God-given. Just try not to stay there for too long. For years, I didn't even celebrate Mother's Day and couldn't even listen to the radio because it was all they talked about. (I lost my mom unexpectedly when I was 26). I had given up on becoming a mom and even gave away a bunch of things I had been saving for my future children because I didn't think it was ever going to happen. But God redeemed the holiday for me even before I had kids when I decided to start celebrating other moms in my life. I am praying for encouragement and hope over your heart today. And if I was there, I would give ALL of the women at the table a rose!

@emily6746 It is absolutely okay to feel sad. In fact, I have felt that way too. It seems everyone is married & has children...we want God's Best for us! Delay is not denial. Hope deferrred makes the heart sick, but a promise fulfilled is a tree of life! (Proverbs 13:12) Patience is Protection someone shared with me recently. I believe The Lord Our God has His Best for you, Emily!! Your sadness will be turned into Joy that you will not be able to contain!!
