The induction heat gun is highly recommended. life saver. Specially, around areas where there are gas vapors where using a torch will blow you in pieces. The heat gun will heat with no problem.

There are also magnetic spark plug sockets with an extension attached permanently. I got this because I didn't think of Matt's idea to tighten up the joint between the socket and extension with paper towel! Love those hose clamp pliers btw! I have a pair!

Those Astro nano sockets have saved me so much time and got me out of so many jams over the last couple years. You can use a 17 mm ratchet wrench or a socket to drive them too. You can use them to make an extra deep socket to use on things like tension pulleys. One of my favorite specialty purchases ever.

I didn't see anything I couldn't particularly live without. But I thought it was cool I bought the same hot staple welder a few weeks ago. I used it to repair the dash in my Silverado. I also bought the Allturn plastic welder that looks like a soldering iron and comes with tips that allow you to feed weld rod material through the tip melting it as it goes. It's a bit easier than the tips that come in the staple welder. Great video, I may have to check out the shorty sockets.

All of a sudden I need more tools. Most made it into my cart. For spark plugs I use a piece of hose, reinforced fuel line type. Slip the hose over the ceramic top and start the threads. Cross threading is near impossible with this method. 👍

I used a plastic welding kit from harbor freight to fix the plastic door open latch, i did add some JB weld to further strengthen it, so far so good, been several months and hasn't broken.

I really enjoyed this video because these are tools that you use. They work for you and they are not snap on, matco, mack or cornwell which are excellent tools. I just can't justify the cost as a diyer. Since they work for you they should work for me. I have a few of these tools and would like to get the rest. Everyone of them is very practical. I've added the electrical disconnect pliers, Xewea screw extractors, and Allturn plastic welder to my "save for later" items on Amazon. I already had the hose remover pliers on my list. @@SchrodingersBox You may have ran across this before, don’t know, just thought I would pass it along as You do for us. On the mid 2k VW 2.0 T’s, get the random cylinder misfire and lean codes, and I found that the misfires were only at idle (of course vacuum related) ! Found a couple leaks with the smoker, but the most telling was the smoke coming out of that little vent port on the right side of that crankcase valve on the top right of the valve cover. Bad diaphragm. You can get just the diaphragm kit from O Reilly’s for 40$! Just thought I would share this. Thanks Matt, Autoline smoker is great!👍👍🇺🇸

I'm actually pretty happy with my short milewaukee ratchet, I had intended on buying the long reach but my local stores didn't have one in stock and I ended up getting a free cp 2.5 battery with the short version. I repair instrument clusters for a living and the long reach wouldn't be able to fit inside the dash like my short one barely can. I also haven't ran into any situations yet where I wished I had the long reach version. I'm sure there's definitely situations for it but the short ratchet is doing well for me

Eric over at South Main Auto showed a handy product on his channel the other day, the SP SLY-15900. You put them into the end of a socket and you can drive stuck bolts out with them. A bit pricey but would be well worth the $50

Best one I saw was the oil filter/oil pressure adapter. Now that really is a time saving game changer ! Also my oil pressure sending unit also sends power to the fuel pump so It's a problem. This tool will solve that.

I am dealing with an issue right now with a stripped/rounded rear caliper bolt on a 2007 Mazda 6. Not sure if you have ever worked on one of those but there is ZERO room in the rear of this car to get any leverage. I am stuck to be honest and not sure what to do. I tried the extractor sets and I can't hammer it on because of the lack of room. I will keep trying though. Thanks for the response.

Yes I know exactly what you are talking about! I believe if I remember the trailing arm runs right near the caliper bolt. That sounds like a potential job for the bolt heater tool and knipex pliers!! Otherwise you’ll just have to remove the trailing arm.

The best socket holders by far is Westling USA socket holders. Once you discover, you'll see why. I live in Australia and got them shipped from USA. Well worth it. These aluminium machined socket sets come in various sizes, lengths, both metric and for those that are still living in the dark ages imperial, as well as colours. They have the size of the socket on the base of the socket holder, so you can actually see what size socket is which. Have a look, you won't be disappointed.

Get the milwaukee m12 1/4" impact driver. Even with the 2.5 ah bateria, it will has tons of torque for a tiny gun. It will fit anywhere and take off stuff you think it couldn't. (If it had a better battery, it might even break away 80 ft lbs)

I would get the Autel scanner because you use it every single time. The scope you only use sometimes. Also there are ways to circumvent using a scope- I did this for years and years. But there is no way to circumvent scantool PIDs for fuel trim!

Oh man I totally prefer this over the torch. First, way faster setup. Second, no consumables- never runs out of gas! 3rd, I don't have to worry about flame damaging anything. Sometimes the torch is the only option though- as you see this tool is not exactly the smallest thing so you can't always reach in tight places. Also the bolts need to be a magnetic material for the induction- not all fasteners are.

If you don't have a shake and break you're really sleeping on it. 1000% must have. No need to heat up exhaust bolts etc etc. They just come right out. Especially for only $20. If you don't buy anything else buy this. Harbor freight even has one.

Never tried it!! My guess is probably it won’t melt the metal because if you think about it as the metal heats the atoms separate more and the vibration would decrease.

Correct!! I think they were more referring to concern of fumes from the brake cleaner on hot surface. But still- as if a hot paper clip that cools below room temp in .25 seconds is going to generate any detectable level of phopshene.

Yes sometimes propane won't even work- it just doesn't produce a flame hot enough like OxyAcetylene will. This device heats it up almost as much as OxyAcetylene.

i normally see this code in conjunction with other codes- are there any other codes are just this one? also are there any symptoms- hesitation, slipping (RPM’s rev high but car doesn’t move proportionately), harsh shifts etc?

​@@SchrodingersBox yes, there are some codes: 1. C200200 - supply voltage of control unit N30/4 (ESP Control Unit) over voltage 2. C326600 - Consequential Fault 3. C343800 - The power supply is outside the valid range 4. B21DE71 - the relay "additional battery" has malfunction. the actuator is blocked 5. A10C17 - the power supply is outside valid range. 6. C221500 - One or more signals sent from control unit A1 "instrument cluster" via CAN bus is ot plausible I've read the TSB for the other codes above, no. 1-5 seems to be related to a faulty auxiliary battery relay. (static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2015/SB-10075286-5448.pdf) but i don't know if the no.6 is related to P061A61. symptoms: in E mode at higher gear (6th/7th gear) low RPM (1-1.5k RPM), when I press the throttle a bit quickly sometime the car vibrate and rpm dip for 1-2second before accelerate. the symptom is much less noticable on S mode, since the ECU maintain higher RPM also the car sometime do harsh shifts only between 2nd and 3rd gear, upshift and downshift, but more when downshift (slow stop near redlight). please help... thanks a lot for your response!

I would start with using a DVOM to check the MaP sensor voltage at idle vs under load.

Sooo if you already tasted that fine German tooling with the Knipex… YOU better get also some of that Wera Allen-sockets. Available in metric and imperial. With these you never will strip out that freaking hex bolt. Also with holding function in hex and Torx. Also these Cobras rescued my ass a couple of times. (:

Yes I have seen it. Harbor Freight has some great stuff for sure- but also a lot of horrifically terrible stuff that won't last a day. I have a few Pittsburgh hand tools that are good and I have a floor jack from them thats easily my best floor jack by far and it's over 8 years old!
