I am a bit late to your channel but I have to say you are far and away my favourite place to come learn new stuff. Especially this series I really get so much out of it. I am new to gospel and even though its not really my type of music I get such a kick out of learning some of the bass licks and grooves. Its like having a really patient teacher show me step by step and I just wanted to say thanks for what you do!

Great breakdown for the bass with you clearly explaining how to slow things down and take one's time. As a guitarist for book trailers who uses thick strings to mimic bass sometimes, your instruction here is truly informative with you nice notes about scales and notes for the lick. Many cheers!

Love the bass groove you had as an example for the lick. Reminds me of one of the grooves in the classic Sharay Reed video

It's a bepop-like line, very cool... Nah, come to think of it, it IS a straight bebop line. Like something Charlie Parker would play. I gotta try this on guitar!
