All those "Oh my god , how did Reggie come up with that solo", well it is basically how most guitarist come up with a solo. They hear it in their head and then try to reproduce it on the guitar up to the point where they can do it nearly instantly Nothing special but yeah, it sounded really good.

The brilliant and talented, Reggie Watts. He came to Perth, Western Australia, in October, 2014. I bought tickets for myself and my sister. We sat in the second row and Reggie was absolutely magnificent. I had found him on youtube about a year or so earlier and had watched every video of him I could access. I was terminally ill at the time, too sick to travel, and assumed I would never have the opportunity to see him in person. When his show was announced (venue only a few suburbs away from my home) I felt as if a divine entity had answered my wish. He was funny, poignant, erudite, absurdist...one of the best acts I've seen. Not long after this appearance, he got the gig he has now and is probably far too busy to travel all the way to Australia. But we would have him back in an instant. Any day of the week.

Reggie kinda thrusted an improv song onto Donald (that's not necessarily a bad thing) and you can tell exactly when he goes from being timid and unprepared (1:41) to completely into it. It's like he was overtaken by the spirit of Reggie.

Musicians do know how a generic song works and you can see the band trying (and succeeding) to pick up on the notes and rythm. He keeps the lyrics pretty simple as well. If you've ever been to jam you know musicians are able to do what they did. Maybe not as good. Me thinks this is improvised and awesome.

Knowing Reggie (and his band) there's a really good chance the music was completely improvised, but James Corden did a really great job of making the whole thing feel as staged as possible.
@JoexLegacy6 жыл бұрын
I think it was indeed improvised. It's not too hard with musicians. It started with a beat, they had time to practice. Every good musician can jam and improvize. And a singer too. You could tell how gambino was uncertain of what to do in the beginning and then got more confidence as it went on.
@erikpoephoofd6 жыл бұрын

Lol true but I don't think he did that... You could see his eyes were watery and his first reaction was like UGHHHHHHHH... okay... ;( (Damn, now I gotta do this)

i may be projecting here, but i think you're projecting there.
@JoexLegacy6 жыл бұрын
I mean if you do think that famous musicians don't experience reluctance and shy emotions I think you've bought into the illusion. They are just human. It takes balls to step on the stage every time... Especially when caught off guard like that.
