The doctors report these cases, like the cases children with Kawasaki-like problems, are coming up far more often that would be expected in the general populatiion and are associated with tested or probable COVID-19 (because many countries were and are poor at testing, symptomatic and known contact diagnosis is accepted.) Given the prevalence of sugar usage, blaming these cases on sugar would be like blaming criminal behaviour on sugar. Yes, criminals eat sugary food...
