Donald Trump: ‘I took a bullet for democracy’

Former president Donald Trump claims he “took a bullet for democracy” last week as he returns to the campaign trail in Michigan.
The Republican 2024 presidential candidate took to the stage with his running mate, Ohio Senator JD Vance.
“They (Democrats) keep saying ‘he is a threat to democracy’,” Mr Trump said at the rally.
“I’m saying, what the hell did I do for democracy? Last week, I took a bullet for democracy.”
