Part of the cost of a gallon of gas is tax. This Tax is to keep roads repaired and in good shape. Electric cars do not pay these taxes. They use the same roads but do not contribute to upkeep. Their vehicles tear up the road because of the additional weight.
@robm306315 сағат бұрын
You do realize that states charge EV vehicles a higher plate/tag price that takes care of that.
@JamesLee-yw8hk14 сағат бұрын
Also, to produce diesel you need to make gasoline as diesel is a byproduct of gasoline. Reduce gasoline production drives up diesel prices. EV vehicles reduce the need for gas. Increased diesel prices drive up the cost of everything, causing more inflation. So, this all circles back to EV vehicles.

@ 6:50, you comment on fewer consumers are fixing their own cars. Well Scottie, that's how they engineered it to be!! They transversed the engine so you can't do simple work on the engine such as water pumps, timing belts and such. If vehicles were made like they used to be then you could do a lot of repairs at home. I truly hope Subaru never goes to transverse mounting of their engines because that would cause a ton of problems. If I had the money to buy a new vehicle today, it would be a 2025 Subaru Outback with a 2.5l engine, no turbo and simple.

I’m almost 70 and my 2022 EV might be the best car I’ve ever owned. It is not a top of the line model. Mainly charge at home and use this car as my daily driver. It’s always amusing to hear people put down EVs when they’ve never driven one. I used my $7500 rebate to buy other things. Note - My wife has a Toyota Sienna. For families with 2 cars and able to charge at home an EV is a great option.

I saw a commercial for the machine e. It offered 0% interest for 60 months and a $5000 incentive. Shows how desperat they are to sell that crap. Does toyota, mazda, honda need such a deal to get you to buy? No, they just sell. It's near Christmas and the end of the year so I'm sure they will have some kind of deal due to time of year. But it will be a low interest rate OR $500-$1000 incentive. Not both, and certainly not $5k off
