Donald Trump Misses Deadline to Testify in Civil Rape Trial

Closing arguments are underway at the New York City civil rape trial against Donald Trump. E. Jean Carroll accuses Trump of raping her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room, nearly 30 years ago. Trump has denied the allegations. Trump told reporters in Ireland that he was flying back to New York to testify in the trial. The judge gave Trump until 5 p.m. Sunday to say he would testify. As Steven Fabian reports, the deadline passed with no word from the former president.

An encounter may or not have happened, and under what, if any, criminal circumstances we will likely never know. However, making accusations from 30 years ago is more than a stretch for anyone. In most all criminal cases, accept for murder, there is a prosecutation limitation referred to the statute of limitation. It is there for a reason. Otherwise, anyone can claim/charge anything about anyone from childhood until the day they die. A detailed deposition was already requested and provided to lawyers under oath, and additional questioning would only result in creating conflict of he said/she said. So, if I was Trump, I would not have testified again either. Now, and with that said, if there was a DNA "love child" then that would be a whole different story.
