Thank you for sharing the video Colin. I was a young boy growning up in the eighties & i used to go regularly to Doncaster to watch the trains with my father. I remember the class 45 farewell tours running through Donny on a lovely summers day & the plethora of class 56 & 58's running coal trains. Its still a great place to watch trains & i still go today although i would love to step back to the eighties to see the classic traction of the time.

I remember Doncaster just like that the only and only time I ever changed there in the 1990s. Love the new class 91.

Sundays stood at the gates of BREL with a fiver ready, saw all the 58’s built in various stages. The gate men must have made a good few quid because there were always a crowd ready to hopefully drop on the “right shift”. Best fivers I have ever spent

Spent a lot of time train spotting there in mid 70's as in my early teens.One of my favourites along with Crewe and Reading back in the day.

That class 56 at 1:10 sounds like a Star Wars Pod-racer. Nice video.

well said rez, the railway is not worth the time of day now, looking at this vid reminds me of the exiting times of wanting to get on and watch trains, even this vids a little sad as theres no deltics ( the kings of br ) i say they should bring back new fleets of deltics, class 47, 37, 40, 45s, make the railways exiting again, and get shot of the rubbish of today, BORING
@kevatcrewe15 жыл бұрын
The excellence of BR contrasted with the rubbish of today - as Stig5440 said, kill all Voyagers and Pendolinos!! Absolutely rubbish trains that are cramped and useless, utter crap compared to a Paxman Valenta powered 125. The Class 91's even look modern now!!

Well i spose we had to move on, there are now more trains and more people using them. 66's now do the job well of moving freight but those pendolino's and voyagers are a backward step IMO, total and utter shite! Nowadays, i take my car rather than travel on those glorified street cars!
