A very fine performance, but I grew up listening to Cziffra's recording of this piece and that is what I am accustomed to. Cziffra makes this piece sound so effortless with the clarity of each note struck perfectly (but he does that with every murderously difficult piece he performs). Watching this piece and hearing her twangs here and there and the effort she puts into making the melody work makes me realize just how difficult this piece is. I must compliment her on her passion and artistry however, and that has always been her strength.

This "transcription" - let's be honest, it's more of a fantasy - is Liszt over the top style at its best and yet she plays it in a way that actually makes you enjoy it. I could not spend months working on this version despite loving the ouverture, this is in my opinion one of those "ungrateful" transcriptions that just make you wonder how godlike of a pianist Liszt must have been. The technical ease he must have had to write something like this and think it would be playable to the mere mortal is mind blowing. Great work! Lovely interpretation.
