Depends. They wont be teaching much about it in Russia seeing how it ended, and it's unlikely to appear much in the west since everyone ignored Russian imperialism until it was too late and their poor response to the conflict royally screwed everything up just like ignoring Hitler taking Czechoslovakia and Austria screwed over europe as a whole. As a rule of thumb governments rarely teach history that makes them look bad, and when they do teach it they generally wait until the party or politicians who failed are dead.

Also the area of conflict is way to small for a local airport to be of strategic importance. It is not like you need that one specific airport to fly in cargo and troops if there is 25 airports within 50km that you can simply drive to since they are out of the conflict zone. Plus the conflict is not large enough to require massive troop movements.
