You couldn't get bored of that scenery, what a location with the added bonus of some JCB yellow and black. Although I do like the look of that Massey you were talking about. As you discussed in this video with less man/women power you've got to change with the times and go bigger, but what are your thoughts of John Deere and their driverless tractor?
@Grassmen2 жыл бұрын
Whether you like it or not you can't deny that driverless is the future

Probably a stupid question but have played with the linkage controls in the arm rest, known a couple of experienced operators who forgot about them as they’re out of the way…..

Yeah that shouldn't be a problem. We just feel that the 8000 is just too big a monster for around us.

At 8.4t unladen weight with roughly an 8t tractor on the front of it fully loaded with grass or just fully loaded would the whole outfit not be just a bit overweight in the eyes of the law?.

If that thing had a proper soundtrack under the bonnet you wouldn't need a radio never mind the radio controls moved.

Hard for 16 year old to get a job driving tractors and hard for contractors to get men 🧐
@Grassmen2 жыл бұрын
Tractors really need to be treated like hgvs now adays. Back when I was a lad a tractor and trailer was a different story altogether.
@snaggletooth5552 жыл бұрын
Do you need the HGV license for that yoke?
@briscaf212 жыл бұрын
@@snaggletooth555 I wouldn't know how the laws work in Ireland but here where I am in Scotland as I understand it if the tractor is doing any form of agricultural, horticultural, or forestry work then no you don't need an hgv but outwith any of the mentioned sectors then yes you do, white diesel, insure and tax accordingly. There are grey areas and it's basically down to the discretion of who stops you on the day as to weather they fine you or not. Like in this video running along side the harvester getting the load and running to the pit is fine but dropping an empty to tow behind the harvester and take the loaded trailer away here would be classed as road haulage and require the above mentioned criteria to be legal. That may have changed as the years have gone on, maybe somone more in the know may be able to clarify and correct if wrong.
