Fun fact: this song was originally supposed to be used for *Banjo Kazooie* since the game was initially about pirates and ocean exploration.

I replayed this game recently and one thing I noticed was just how powerful the music was. No supprise there it's Rareware, but it made me sad in the sense that I don't think we will ever see music this powerful in modern video games. It was truly a time to be alive back then.

i've noticed this occured with me in 2010 when i was 11, i couldn't get past the banana fairy island without feeling that melancholy taking over me, had to turn down the tv just to get past that part :( it does bring back that innocence that i once miss from the early 2000s for sure, i'm only 24 and had the time to understand that nostalgia i once had as a kid and yet i'd see people (like they're in their 30s i'd imagine by now) i never understood why they'd get sad over it and now i do know why

My best friend gave this game to me for my ninth or tenth birthday, he had bought it from a friend at school who was saving money for a GameCube. At first my friend tricked me into saying it was for another friend and I was jealous because we played it on mine and I was super excited. This music in particular stuck in my memory, and I always get strong feelings of nostalgia when I hear it. The whole thing is now 19 or 20 years ago... I miss that time.

I finally ordered an authentic copy of DK64 after 20 years of missing this game, but when I turned on my childhood N64, the screen is black. I feel like there is an irony somewhere, like wanting to return to my childhood and finding nothing but a black screen. The sadness is bittersweet
@carnage06852 жыл бұрын
The screen was black, and you just left it at that? You didn't try putting it in again, or blowing the inside of the cartridge with some sort of wind? Really? I've had that happen with games from when I was a kid on my N64, but after putting them in again, or trying for a good several minutes or so, I've got them to work again. I don't think you should give up on it so easily, if it meant that much to you.
@goop-b7l2 жыл бұрын
have you tried cleaning the insides of the cartridge? you can do this with a Q tip. That should fix it. If that doesnt work it may be the wires. Cheap wires gave me hell personally.
