I played DK64 in my childhood and cannot count how many times I played this compilation so far. For me, DK64 has both the most exciting and most relaxing soundtracks among all other game titles. They let me wonder how the place in the world I don't know would look like and made me wish I could travel there someday in the future. Without this video game, I would have had even less interest in foreign countries where I actually traveled around after a decade. In other words, DK64 expanded my curiosity toward the greater part of the world, which I had no means of knowing in everyday life.

That Mermaid Palace song starting around 31:33 is in my humble opinion at least a very sort of sad and melancholic song as that only makes sense as it plays during a cutscene where the mermaid talks about her missing, lost pearls. Don't get me wrong I love Donkey Kong 64's OST for it's nostalgic value and what not, it's just that I don't listen to it overly often as it starts to make me feel rather down and melancholic at times. Although that can depend on my individual mood at the time.
