It's a game-breaking bug in the Castle Crush level. It involves Diddy picking up the first DK barrel in the level and then there are certain other things you have to do with it to make the glitch happen. It's been known to corrupt save files and I think it's actually bricked some cartridges and even consoles.

@@PlutoTheSecond It cannot brick your console, that's...impossible through just a glitch in software. That stuff is just a myth. That being said, the glitch can be very catastrophic for its random nature, and a cartridge could very well be seemingly "Bricked" depending on how screwed you got by the glitch. (If too much of the cartridge was corrupted, you'd have to reset the battery of the memory yourself). It's possible for you to be completely locked out of the save/load screen whenever you play the game, so that's really bad, actually. That's a lot of damage for a single glitch! Of course, back in the day this stuff was a lot more common due to the way memory used to be stored to save as much space as possible. You just wouldn't get something like this any longer.

OPINION INBOUND: It's a matter of perspective. The music back then seems so much better due to the limitations of the day. There was only so much that could be done musically on the hardware back then. As such, composers had to focus on strong melodies which got stuck in our heads until this very day. They have too way more to work with now.

video games seem to have the best music, its less of a production line of the tripe you get in the industry in the last 5-10 years (especially in the pop genre) its mostly to do with financial risk that music is all the same now a days i saw a video somewhere showing objectively how alot of music today is just worse than 10+ years ago
