Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (stylized on the menu screen as "Diddy's Kong-Quest") known in Japan as Super Donkey Kong 2: Dixie & Diddy), commonly abbreviated to DKC2, is a 1995 adventure platforming video game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Donkey Kong Country 2 was first released on 20 November 1995 in North America and stars Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong as the main characters of the game. Donkey Kong Country 2 is a sequel to the original Donkey Kong Country (1994) which was later followed by Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! (1996). DKC2 was later also released on the Game Boy Advance in 2004 and was until recently available for download on the Wii's Virtual Console, having become one of the most popular games of its age.
The game begins soon after Donkey Kong has been kidnapped by the prime antagonist Kaptain K. Rool, leaving Diddy and his girlfriend Dixie to rescue him. Together, the two travel to various and distinct parts of Crocodile Isle where the game is set on which there are varying worlds totalling in eight unique environments. Improved over its predecessor, DKC2 was praised for having excellent graphics, plot and characterisation and as a result DKC2 received much critical and commercial praise. Selling millions of copies worldwide on the SNES, it was the second best selling game of 1995 and the sixth best-selling game on the platform overall.

Krazy Kremland was my favorite stage of this game! There was so much detail put into the carnival!! From the background fireworks, to how Diddy flung his hands back when the rollcoaster went down hills, or Dixie would shout "weeee" and the MUSIC!!! Such a fantastic game all around!

This playthrough doesn't do justice to the sheer difficulty level this game could reach at times. Levels like Animal Antics, Toxic Tower, the K. Rool duels...those things were intense. What an incredible, incredible game this was (and great playthrough, too).

As much as I love DKC Return and that I know Tropical Freeze will be EPIC. DKC2 will always remain my favorite. Both the dark theme and dark atmosphere are totally unique for a DK game and I simply loved it. Every worlds were truly detailed and thought out and the boss fights were amazing. I also loved how you had access to the ''secret world'' and how you needed most DK coins to battle King K. Rool for the 2nd time.

1:22 Klobber's of various types. The normal one's (green) basically harmless... only trying to ram you off the edge. The banana klobber's (yellow) harmless but steals your banana's if direct hit. The TNT Klobber's (red in tnt barrels) HARMFUL! Direct hit and BOOM! and then the Dark Klobber's (black with red eyes) harmless but also the most harmful than the rest of them. They won't kill you but if they hit you directly, they kill your next tries. Balloon takers. I miss it when enemies not only had different colors, but the different colors specified different abilities. They don't do that in games anymore. They're just different colored now... nothing extra.

I’d recommend you look out for indie games, as those usually have the most time and effort put into them. (Cuphead, Shovel Knight, Celeste)

Gloomy Gulch in my opinion was the most difficult world along with the Lost World. But this is one of the best Donkey Kong Country games and it has an amazing soundtrack
