I'm happy you did this too, because it's my favorite mining/cave track from the Donkey Kong series! If it were remixed for a newer game, I'd totally picture it like this: Such great steam punky atmosphere while still keeping the tone of the original. This was so amazing to listen to!
@gameandsounds8 жыл бұрын
+Crystal Dennis Music Thanks, glad you liked it! I tried to keep the original atmosphere while working with modern sounds and adding some little tweaks. It is often my aim to keep the feel of the original songs untouched, because I want the listener to feel as if he/she was still playing the game.

I'm so happy I decided to check this video out!! You are one of the few fanmade versions who actually get that drumming and feeling-of-loneliness across through the melody. Woohooo! I know what I am going to listen to on repeat all day :D

+axelnapalm DKC2's soundtrack is definitely one of the most memorable soundtracks of his era, and that's quite something to say since the SNES era had so many good soundtracks.

@@gameandsounds Well, the percussion you used instantly said to me "this is going to be epic", and then part where the choire usually hums the tune, you go all out on the guitar. That part is probably my favorite.

Only dug about half of this tune. I liked the segments when your guitar was at full blast, but everything else just sounded too much like layers of noise. That's not to say it sounded uncoordinated or too much of everything, it's just that it doesn't really sound like your signature style of game covers. I always relish hearing that loud blare of the guitar, and while I also like when you use the guitar in general, the other synthetic or electronic instruments, I feel, take up too much of the track. It just sounds... ehh, in a way. Very muddy. I suppose it goes along with your personal taste, but since I'm not personally a fan of it, I'm probably not going to like it as much. An overall good cover, but not as great as some of your others.
