As a kid i got dk64 for Christmas and the whole game is so good. First game i ever played was dk country 2 and the map is so nostalgic to me just switching levels is the coolest shit. I never got bothered by the collectables in dk64 like others and got stuck a few times and it took me forever to complete but i liked it. I like the look of country on snes more than on tropical freeze. Something about the limititations they had made them do funny design choices and pick bright colors. Maybe the switch 2 will bring us a new dk game.

Seriously one can only hope! I know what your saying though, idk if it's just nostalgia but something about that old design is more favorable than the new cartoonish style. They tried to make it look more realistic, with pre rendered graphics.

Look, I want a new 3D game too, but I'm also realistic. Bringing Returns to Switch to coincide with the theme park was more pragmatic. And the last time a new DK game released, the fans weren't very receptive to it. So Nintendo has to be careful with how they invest in DK, because there's no telling if they'll get a return on that investment.

Yea but isn't that a factor in most games? Your right about the theme park situation, but they even made the Kirby and the forgotten land game which I would consider in the same boat of being stuck in the side scroller budget. I think if they made a good game, people will buy it. We all know Nintendo has the money and as many chances as they given other games, I don't see why they haven't with DK. But rare being owned by Microsoft might be that factor.
