As for someone who likes this show unironically (and not for the stupid and overused "so bad it's good" reasoning), I do take the show seriously, and there's plenty of serious moments that succeed at being serious as well, such as Klump being exiled from King Kuhrool's army. Also, since when were you the one who had definitive opinions? Plus, if you're just going to be here to bring more hate to the show, then just don't be here at all, since this isn't even a place for that. Seeing people like you genially disappoints me. It really does show how many people value themselves and their thoughts more than others (narcissism), and how you refuse to leave people alone who think otherwise of your thoughts.

My problem is when people say the show has nothing of value since just because something is bad does not mean it does not have good elements to it. Also when did so bad its good become a hot topic? Last time i checked it was still great term used so i dont have to write an essay on why the show is bad in the normal sense but when looked in the aspect of not taking it serious and just have fun the show hits all the spots. People like u need to understand that having criticism of show does not mean people hate it thats true overused route to take in conversations my man in fact i actually do love this show i even watched it all the time it was on even when i was home sick from school. Finally, someone who's actually smart and doesn't beat the show to death for being dated. (Also, a quick note for 3:07-3:11, the TV series released two months before DKC 3 did, so that might be why she doesn't appear often in the series. That, and her character was pretty new at the time as well. Also another note for 4:00-4:07, Bluster Kong didn't make a love potion to become Leo Luster, and he actually made a special serum for him to put on his head. Also, one last thing that I want to mention is that the TV series actually takes place before the first Donkey Kong Country, making it a prequel. Still a pretty good timeline you made though.)

I went down the DK Country TV Show rabbit hole about a year ago after seeing some Nobody's Hero memes on KZbin...it's fantastic. At first I didn't really get it, but once I realized the structure and got used to Diddy's voice it became a banger. Cannot believe it was mocapped while they were voice acting.

Actually, the 'love potion' was from a different episode. Bluster turns into Leo Luster via mixing a bunch of hair tonics and putting it on his head when he's scared that his hair is falling out.

How can the original DK game from the 80s exist after the events of Tropical Freeze when it’s always been canon that Cranky Kong WAS that Donkey Kong that fought Jump Man? Mario Kart isn’t canon but even if it was, it could just as easily exist during the events of previous Donkey Kong Country games. I’m also of the belief that Donkey Kong Jr. Who is confirmed to be Donkey Kong’s father, has dwarfism of some sort. Which is how Donkey Kong is able to play tennis with what looks to be a younger version of his father. But seeing as we never see a fully grown DK Jr, we can just assume DK Jr has dwarfism. A rare genetic thing but it happens.

The only thing I care about with the Super Mario Bros movie is what DK and Cranky will look like. Late 90s CG animation for TV versus 2020s CG animation for a full length movie will be a very interesting comparison.

I used to love watching the Donkey Kong Country cartoon when Teletoon aired it during the days of my youth. Remembered the episode where Diddy Kong turned invisible, the one where Donkey Kong becomes a baby via a potion and the one with the time capsule. I do admit, the show has aged like milk, with the mo-cap animation looking all janky, faces looking rather ugly on occasion and lot of plots being rather cookie cutter. Also, the voice acting can be rather hit and miss at times. That said, I never hated this show, even as an adult. I watched a few episodes of the DKC cartoon back in 2010 and had a good time with them. I wouldn't consider it to be the absolute worst video game cartoon ever, like so many other KZbin videos have said. I find it to be a decent guilty pleasure of mine. One thing to note about the show is that the motion capture was done by a French animation studio called MediaLab. Apparently the DKC cartoon was intended to be an adult cartoon, since the original scripts for the episodes were more... racy, to put it mildly. However, Nelvana wanted the show to be more marketable towards kids and I guess re-worked the adult scripts to be more kid friendly. The show was a Canadian-French co-production, and was pretty popular in Canada, France and Japan of all places. Another thing to note is that the models used for the DKC cartoon did get some use in French adverts, like the ads for DK Land 2 and 3, as well as the North American ad for DKC1 on the Game Boy Color. There was also a variety show in France called DKTV that used the models from the DKC cartoon... and it's rather weird.

Look, I know it's mostly a Shitpost, but there's a snafu with the DK Timeline. Donkey Kong Arcade actually takes place before the DKC trilogy and is the first game in the timeline, as it's confirmed both in the game and in the Lord that Cranky is the Donkey Kong from DKA. Our DK is actually Donkey Kong the 3rd, Cranky is his Grandfather, with DK Jr (you forgot Donkey Kong Junior) being his dad who has mysteriously vanished. And don't forget to put Diddy Kong Racing in the Success timeline :) No, I don't know why I know this much about Primate Lore.

@@masterdrewt6698 I think Paramount lost the rights to the Donkey Kong movie at one point in the 2000s due to Nelvana holding the copyright rights to the show and movie. I think the Donkey Kong show’s home video rights to the show and movie are owned by KaBoom and Phase 4 Films, they are the ones who released the show to DVD in the early 2010s.

While I personally don't like this show, (yet despite this, I still rank the "Donkey Kong Country" cartoon somewhere in the middle on my list of video game based TV shows), I reluctantly watched it on Sunday mornings on the "Fox Family" channel in the late 90's for 3 reasons: 1st: Their was nothing on during the 9 to 9:30 AM time slot during that time. 2nd: Despite not being all that great of a show overall (in MY personal opinion), it had its funny moments, and some of the songs were legit bangers; (especially the ones sung by Donkey, and/or Candy Kong, as well as Bluster Kong, and King K. Rool) And 3rd (As well as the main reason I tuned into this cartoon at all): I will admit it, I like, and was attracted to this show's version of Candy Kong (both physically, and personality wise). In fact, she's the ONLY character on the "Donkey Kong Country" cartoon I legitimately like; I'm indifferent to, am annoyed by, or hate every other character on that cartoon.

Yeah, it's just not... That great looking (especially in the last season and the first episode plot is badly done) but it's actually a very good show. I love how even when a character is doing nothing, you can see him BREATHING instead of standing perfectly still till dialogues need him. Not many cartoon did that... or do that nowdays

Honestly I think that the second season of the TV show is really good, while the animation does annoy me a little with how dilated their pupils are, it still doesn't take away from the fact that the second season has some really solid episodes. These episodes include Hunka Hunka Burnin' Bluster, It's a Wonderful Life, and Hooray for Holly Kongo Bongo. and just to mention Bluster might be a jerk, but he's a stinkin rich one.

this show was just a little past me. i remember seeing it on tv once in 1995 or 1996. all i remember is diddy a donkey kong riding in mine cart through the jungle. i didnt forget that and years later looked up the show on youtube. tbh i couldnt really couldnt get in to it. but just cause its in 3d and from the early 90s that still impressive to me today. despite how primitive it look by todays standards.

Honestly, even though it's a guilty pleasure and Candy Kong is a pretty awful character, I think everyone rags on this show too much. Just enjoy the silly songs, goofy outdated but still charming animation and good voice cast. Cranky and Krusha have my favorite voices, they're both funny in their own ways.
