Here's something really interesting about this: It was actually the first CGI tv show to be animated entirely with motion capture, hence the bad animation. I actually have an interesting home video release of this show. It's called Legend of the Crystal Coconut, and it was released here in America on VHS in 1999 (it was released to years prior in Canada, but I don't know of any European releases). What's so interesting is that the four episodes on it (Legend of the Crystal Coconut (ep. 26) Bug-a-boogie (ep. 18) Ape-nesia (ep. 23) and Booty and the Beast (ep. 6)) were actually edited together with narration by DK loosely tying it together to create a feature length film. That's also the order that they appear, which causes a major plot hole. In the third episode as the name suggests, DK loses his memory. The main events are DK being convinced that he's aligning with one of the bad guys (first K.Rool, then Scurvy), but the climax is a clip show, represented as the other characters reminding him of certain events. One of these happens to be the climax of Booty and the Beast. However, that's the episode shown right after, meaning that Diddy Kong somehow knew about this and expected Donkey Kong to as well despite it never happening. It's not like it was implied to be part of the flashback either. In fact, it's implied to take place a long time after the previous episode, despite it being Donkey Kong's first encounter with Scurvy.

I just watched the first episode of the kirby cartoon and it was pretty good it was made 2001 so it's still fairly new but catchy theme song, uses stuff from the game but doesn't use the main story, classic characters as well as new ones my personal favorite, Meta Knight. Anyway, regardless of the really mediocre bad animation I think you would like it

So my guess is that it was skipped on the VHS I own. However, there is a different episode on that same VHS that plays that same exact pirate song.
