I believe worship is our lifestyle. Living our life holy, worthy in God's eyes. A life that reflects Jesus. Worship does not end at the end of the worship service at church. Worship happens every single moment that you live your life as a worthy sacrifice for God. Praise on the other hand is a proud declaration of who God is. Thanksgiving with songs and prayers, or even just by sharing your testimony to a friend is a form of praise.

Very true: Check Romans 12: 1 and 2! When we gather together we do so for encouragement, edification, to mutually support one another. Paul says: **speaking to one another** in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord in Eph 5:19. Worship in the OT is not 'worship' in the NT. Completely different. The Spirit indwells us, Christ calls us his friends, his brothers!! We 'worship' in every moment of the life of repentance and peace.

Am from the Philippines John 4:24 is the very perfect description concerning to the true worshippers, God seeking those true worshippers. True worship only manifest in us if we do give reverence to the word of God by obeying them and obeying his words became a worship. And absolutely, Don Moen perfectly described praise as we declaring God's marvelous works in ourlives. Again, giving praise to all men is also permitted as we give them acknowledgement for their goodness but only God deserved our worship by our willingness to served him in goodness or in bad times, and believing him that he is the only one true God. I am an elderly person and give my experience. When we praise, we send up a sweet savour unto him with our exaltation of Almighty God and overwhelm him. When we worship, God Almighty himself will decend among us in all HIs glory and overwhelm us. That is why we cry during worship service.Love from all in New Zealand.

Worship is who you are and praise is what you do. A Christian does not have time for worship because who he/she is every second is worship. Praise is part of worship. What we call the praise and worship team is simply a music team. The Holy Spirit came to fill Believers so that they are in constant worship of God. The condition of your heart determines who you worship NOT what you do. When I am at work I am in worship, when I am eating, whatever I am doing I am in constant worship. Which is why the Bible says that whatever we do, do it as unto to the Lord. Why? because it is worship. Calling the music team the Praise and Worship team relegates worship to an event not a lifestyle. This is why we have Christians who are different people on different days. When worship is a lifestyle, we become consistent and grow in maturity in Christ Jesus.

Nope! When Isaac asked his father Abraham where he was taking him Abraham answered his son, we're going to worship the Lord God. So we now knowing clearly what was going to take place tells us that worship is an action of obedience, to perform something. Singing praises can be for instance about the outcome of the performance the blessings of God which is an after effect. You can't be praising or singing of something you know nothing about. That'll be baring false witness.

A suggestion to add to the meaning of the two words. Praise could be more of thanking God for what He has done for you and others, for all His works. Worship can be more about realizing who God is or realizing the worthiness of God regardless of the situation you are in. Worship can mean being able to glorify God for who He is no matter the circumstances or the state you are in because you can approach His throne of grace boldly and proclaim things like God is Almighty, Everlasting, Holy, Loving, Unchanging, etc. Praise comes from experience while worship comes from the heart, while both are rooted in the Holy Spirit's guidance. Not sure if that's right or makes sense totally. But yeah, I like the idea of monologue vs. dialogue. Because in the dialogue, you can have a deeper understanding of what it means to worship in truth and in spirit.

l completely agree, this is exactly how l see it too... Great biblical Example is Job; Although his circumstances were not so great (according to the human eye), he still worshipped God because of who he is. He is the creator or heaven and earth, the one who is seated in the highest places, the one whose name is above all names. These things about God do not change, even when we haven't got that job we prayed for, even when we lose a child (like Job)...He is still God!! Blessed day cx

I am a part of a worship team for the Glory of God. Here in Philippines, most of the Worship teams always mistaken the difference between praise and worship. Recently came upon your channel. I have been sincerely blessed. Something you might find interesting is the word worship is an old English contraction of the words "worth"-"ship". Worthy as we know means "condition of being worthy, dignity, glory, distinction, honor, renown," but the word-forming element "-ship" means "quality, condition; act, power, skill; office, position; relation between". Worship is to lost to our selves and absorb in JESUS CHRIST, it means to say, lost of who we are, not minding what's our profession is, our position, possession, wealth, honor, fame and nobility. Bowing down with deep prostration and adoration before His throne. Praises is giving Him the glory, Thanking Him for everything, acknowledging His mercy that endureth forever with trumpets, clapping and singing. I remember, what Vicki Trustrum from New Zealand said (she lived in Hanover and was in the same church as me). She said, that praise leads the church into the temple courtyard, worship leads the church into the Holy of Holies of the Temple. That's a difference, in this definition each Christian band could be able to walk into the courtyard, this can also be done by non christian artists, but for walking into the Holy of Holies you need more qualification, as you can get in music schools. I remember a couple, that leads worship with instruments, one time they did without any music and I had the impression, this way it would be much better, much more intensive. Before I learned about the gifts of the spirit and how close we could come to God, I had another concept of Christian music. When I became Christian, the church where I was, had the concept, that the choir is preaching too, does emphasize the sermon and that the church sings its hymns accomped by a single musician. I thought, that Christian songs may preach the gospel, that praise and worship music makes no sense and that the musical skills counts more, than how a person is related to Christ. When I'm confronted with people, that looks more to musical experience and ability, I can say "that's me 10 years before", because God changed my views and now I prefer praise and worship and look to all the well meaning songs that tries to convince people.

Worship is a posture of bowing down while praise is a posture of standing up with hands raised... in scriptures the word worship is usually preceded by a falling down... "he fell down and worshiped..." in the truest sense worship is the posture of the heart, a bowing of the heart in subjection and humility. While praise is a giving of thanks for what was received. Anybody can praise God but not everyone can worship Him because the 'praiser' gives praise for what he's recieved but the worshiper gives worship even when he has not received anything... eg. Job said though he slay me yet will I trust him (paraphrase)... thatis the disposition of worship. Praise consists of 3 elements: the praiser, the praised and the reason for praise... Worship consist of only one focus: the one being worshipped. A worshiper honours God at all times while a 'praiser' gives praise to God for what he has done. Again worship is a posture of the heart, it refers to a heart which is humble and contrite before God while praise is a position of giving thanks for that which has been received.
