Tip for people doing prmc. DO NOT ask the training team whats the minimum amount you have to do. They will not be happy. You should not be aiming for the minimum. Everything is a best effort test.

Not sure why anyone is suprised that the lightest guy with the shortest arms could do the most reps. Moving 60 kilos a short distance is very different to moving 95 kilos through a huge range of motion. There is a reason why the vast majority of gymnasts are tiny.

if I want to improve a particular exercise I blast it to my maximum at the start of my daily exercise. I then do everything else to the normal routine. I find smashing the first exercise is most important first thing because that's when you have most energy. if I am talking in weight I could bench 25% more if I do it at the start than at the end. I run every day after weights and circuits and sport but if I want to improve the the running specificly I don't lift weights that day. I tend to run roughly a third of my maximum after doing weights or circuits.

@johnwig285
@johnwig285 5 жыл бұрын
Let me answer the most in demand question, WHY ARE THEY USING A WOODEN BAR INSTEAD OF THE NORMAL BAR? ANSWER: FUNCTIONALITY. The reality is when it comes to operations and even training such as the obstacle course, you are using the grip portrayed in this video whenever u are climbing over walls. By training pullups in such a manner, it will help u improve ur grip drastically and get over walls easily. I could do 12 normal pullups but when i first tried out at climbing walls during my obstacle course, i couldnt do shit. Yes, the ruck, the vest, the rifle played a part but i simply wasnt used to pulling myself up with that kind of grip. This shit is hardcore, imagine if they even require u to use strict form by descending slowly. Its pretty much a sally up sally down with a hardcore grip, shit is gonna make ppl go from more than 10 pullups to a mere 5.

I did those myself in the regular army in the 1970s.......today my upper workout consists of only pullups and dips, both bodyweight and weighted versions. These beams may be OK for bodyweight versions.....but for weighted pullups: one inch diameter bar is the best size, as in weighted, the grip must be there, or you have no chance of pulling up weight. This video brings back memory's from 1972, and the beams look how l remember them. And l recall it was bad to fold one,s arms in the gym.......as you were told to: "give me 20 pushups" if you did😂

I did a pull up comp at college with this lad who’s on the Olympic water polo team and he was doing kipping pull-ups and I still beat him, I did 20 he counted 15 that he considered strict, his turn cane up and he was flopping around like a fish so I said 1 for every time he did a kipping pull up, he did like 12 and gave up and continued to scream at me cos he did better and that he won, I love irritating people who can’t control themselves
