if I want to improve a particular exercise I blast it to my maximum at the start of my daily exercise. I then do everything else to the normal routine. I find smashing the first exercise is most important first thing because that's when you have most energy. if I am talking in weight I could bench 25% more if I do it at the start than at the end. I run every day after weights and circuits and sport but if I want to improve the the running specificly I don't lift weights that day. I tend to run roughly a third of my maximum after doing weights or circuits.

The version he demonstrates is: strict form, overhand, chest to bar, hollow body pull-up.
@johnwig2855 жыл бұрын
Let me answer the most in demand question, WHY ARE THEY USING A WOODEN BAR INSTEAD OF THE NORMAL BAR? ANSWER: FUNCTIONALITY. The reality is when it comes to operations and even training such as the obstacle course, you are using the grip portrayed in this video whenever u are climbing over walls. By training pullups in such a manner, it will help u improve ur grip drastically and get over walls easily. I could do 12 normal pullups but when i first tried out at climbing walls during my obstacle course, i couldnt do shit. Yes, the ruck, the vest, the rifle played a part but i simply wasnt used to pulling myself up with that kind of grip. This shit is hardcore, imagine if they even require u to use strict form by descending slowly. Its pretty much a sally up sally down with a hardcore grip, shit is gonna make ppl go from more than 10 pullups to a mere 5.

I did those myself in the regular army in the 1970s.......today my upper workout consists of only pullups and dips, both bodyweight and weighted versions. These beams may be OK for bodyweight versions.....but for weighted pullups: one inch diameter bar is the best size, as in weighted, the grip must be there, or you have no chance of pulling up weight. This video brings back memory's from 1972, and the beams look how l remember them. And l recall it was bad to fold one,s arms in the gym.......as you were told to: "give me 20 pushups" if you did😂

Are you taller than the second beam up there?

I considered myself a bit of an upper body wimp but at RMC Duntroon the minimum was 7 and the average was close to 12.

@Dave Klonpenberg And why are the Dutch marines being gay?
@juansamudio11715 жыл бұрын
People are saying the beam is a harder grip, I personally find it easier like when you do pull ups on a smith machine
@LegalizeTheNuclearBomb5 жыл бұрын
There's a smith machine for pull ups? wtf

@breadman29836 жыл бұрын
not that difficult man its the grip part thats hard... thats very slipery wood an you cant shift your grip.
@mussabsaleem17186 жыл бұрын
Well I think it's difficult coz I can only do 8 XD. Am weak :'(
@crazymonkey12156 жыл бұрын
16 is the maximum, 3 is the minimum atleast. 6-7 will score you good points from the test as I’ve been told
@mussabsaleem17186 жыл бұрын

I did 15 weeks in mainstream training and 3 weeks in Hunter. Looking to rejoin soon. 16 Pull ups IS hard. Seen around 2 lads complete the pull up test. 8 is a good score though, not weak of you performing the reps correctly.
